Hello im new in here.. i hope everyone is well. Was happy to find such forum where ones can find a little support and hope by communicating one another and sharing experiences. Ive been struggling with my tinnitus since 5 years it came out of sudden. Went to 3 ORL (assured all was fine) 3 tmj dentists (assumed that my severe teeth grinding out of stress at night, might have led to my tinnitus and its too late to recover anything) no one could actually helped with my jaw (face muscle cramps) or tinnitus or the troubles coming with it ( headaches, diziness) instead they all advised to adjust my life style since i'll be living with that sound in my head 24/7. All my life. Im not sure if it has anything to do with the anxiety medecines(seroxat, venlax..) i used to take 4 years ago but im sure that the stress had a big say in my life. Im 34 and hoping one day we will all wake up 'sound free' since i know how frustrating and paining is to live with tinnitus.
Hi noemi,
T is so annoying it you can see other docs to help you lean tools to cope and manage this .
I took meds that had the side effect of causing T. I wish Imcaheck all the side effects before I began the medication.
keep searching for help and I hope you can find some peace !
This is a long shot, but can other people hear your tinnitus, near your ear or near your mouth? Is the tinnitus like a clickety sound, rather than a high pitched sound?

I will pray for you neomi. As with many of us you are looking for the root. There are over 200 possible sources. I suggest you disregard the negative advice of learning to live with it because it is permanent and to hold on to faith you will find what is best for you and a possible resolution. I have had many illnesses in the past resolve and that is my faith for this ailment too.
There are so many suggested sollutions and not one that fits all. If you're a person of faith, ask God to show you only the right things to try so you don't get caughtup in false ideas.
Today I'm going for a hearing screening and a head and neck massage. My tinnitus comes and goes and I hope this treatment today has some effect. All we can do is try to relax, enjoy life, and try different things as we have a mind to do so.
Have you tried NAC to try to flush out the meds from your system? Maybe read up on it.
Tinnitus is one of the many symptoms of Vitamin B12 Deficiency.
Are you able to eat foods high in vitamin B12, such as beef, liver, seafood, fish, cheese and eggs as this is the only natural way of obtaining it?
No haven't tried NAC. but will check with my doc. I see the doc this week
thanks
Hopexxx
Did the head and neck message work? Message cure everything for a shot time. I love Sweedish message they get deep in the muscle tissue. So totally relaxing.
Thank you for ur reply and i hope you will find a way to eliminate the meds side effects from your organism so u can retrieve peace too as well. Ive tried the night guard tool for about 2years ended up with my jaw totally locking nd had to take muscle relaxing meds for a week to release it . Thats when i stopped searching nd tried to coped with my situation. stopped seeing docs nd did nthg but praying that one day it will go away by itself.
After reading for several long nights and doing researches about T Ive came to learn that my tinnitus is subjective and only heard by me the docs who examined me before couldnt hear anything but assured that ill be dwelling with panic attacks and depression if i kept obssessed about it finally they suggested to take anti depression meds but i refused. My jaw clicks in fact but the sound in my head is like a high pitched one. My sis caught me up several time while sleeping doing a weird crunching sound like if i was eating a hard solid thing thats when i knew it was teeth grinding. The night guard didnt help and the tmj doc said nothing was wrong with my jaw disc but found instead that the muscle in my face near the jaw area are tensed he only gave me back then a muscle relaxing med. I do have periodical tension headache along with my T and neck pain.
Thank you for ur kind reply ill pray for u as well and for all of the T sufferers. Hope the hearing screening will come out clean for u and that ull find some relaxation with massage i must try it some day. My hearing screening came out normal but with some sensitivity to loud sounds (guess this is the case for all T sufferers). I pray daily to be led to the right solution or else to handle with faith and patience my prob. Ill be praying for all of us knowing its hard enough having to deal with life troubles apart of having such condition.
Sending positive thoughts and wishes ur way.
Ive took B12 supplements for almost a year ended up having a high rate of B12 in my last blood test it was highly above normal so the doc cut the supplement for me. Although it helped with my head pain and burning sensation. I maintain a healthy life style food hoping it will help one day after all.
The reason I was asking about other people hearing this in case this was throat muscle spasms.
Moving on, does your tinnitus go away when everything is quiet?

No, kind of gets louder.. maybe not louder but clearer bcz no distracting noise around, but its always there.. the only time im tinnitus free is when im sleeping :s
Make sure to keep your Folate level healthy - plenty of green vegetables - as this is essential to process the B12. The two work together.
You cannot "overdose" on B12 as any excess is excreted via your urine so a high level in your bloodstream shouldn't be a worry. If the symptoms that it "helped" return don't be afraid to start supplementing again.
I wish you well.
I want to further confirm if the tmj problems is related. During jaw movements, or if you press on different muscles over the tmj, does the tinnitus change?

The head and neck massage was heavenly. The crunching and tension loosened. The tinnitus is still there. I believe the sounds are in our brain. Something is misfiring. We will try all we can until it is figured out. I learned from my hearing screening lady not to be in total silence. Not only does some noise mask it and keep your mind off it, doing so makes the monster smaller and you may actually retrain your brain to listen for outside noise. I work in quiet so now am going to add noise to my environment as I can. I don't focus well with a radio on so will see what occurs.
That is terrific. Yes, we join in prayer together. We follow what God leads us to. We draw on him to help us handle this.
My hearing is perfect from the screening. I learned we spend too much time looking into our ears and it's like looking into an empty box because the problem isn't there. It's in our brain.
I have always eaten a lot of cheese and eggs. It is more than a B12 deficiency for me. I have been on supplements too for a month.
Oh im not sure about that theres surely pain while pressing and a click sound when moving my jaw but T doesnt change. however i can confirm that some days the T is felt lower and calmer only when i sleep well in good posture. Ive been sleeping all my life in a very bad posture.. thats what ive been told.. from here came my neck back and chest pain..
i thank you for your kind follow up and appreciate ur taking time to reply.. Bless you.
