I'm a healthy 50 yrs old male who had my left ankle fused 31 yrs ago (approx 19 yrs old) and it has served me well until last few years.... now my subtalar and navicular and so beat up with the extra stress last 30 yrs ...I'm facing a subtalar and navicular fusion. Surgery is schld sept 26th. Anybody have similar story? How long before I can return to my desk job with crutches knee scooter etc? I'm guessing 2-4 weeks, after surgical cast is replaced with hard cast? Weigh bearing won't be for 8-12 weeks, understood. Is my 2-4 weeks being out of office about right? Anything else I should be aware of? Any tips 😄

i had a subtaler fusion six weeks ago & I also have a desk job. I could never go to work at this point due to swelling & having to have foot elevated still constantly. My foot turns bright purple if it's down for any length of time. I'm hoping I will be ready at the three month mark which is what I was given before I can return. Everyone heals differently though. Good luck with your surgery.
Sorry to hear of your difficulties. Do you know about the iWalk 2.0 hands free crutch. I've been practicing with mine ahead of my replacement ankle revision because I cannot stand not being able to walk and use both hands for many weeks/months. If you go to Amazon and put in iWalk 2.0 and look at the reviews and user videos you may find it would suit you. It is not for everyone but if you are in reasonable condition and have a reasonable sense of balance you should be OK . I'm 76 in a few months time.

I'm using my first fusion from 32 yrs ago and my docs opinion as as a guide.... both indicate 3-4 weeks, then I should be able to wok at desk (foot unevelvated). Fingers crossed. I also have knee scooter and iwalker line up for mobility.
You will be fine if you have all those things to help you get around. You probably will need something to ice your foot with. I bought an aircast cryo cold therapy unit for foot. I fill it up with ice & a little water & it lasts all day. It will be a life saver for when I go back to work.
