I discovered these spots on my large toe and small toe about 4 months ago. They have not faded or grown out. 2 different doctors suspect melanoma and want to remove my toenails. Has anyone gone through this? I'm scared and canceled my procedure for now.
You should be able to get a biopsy to check if it is a melanoma. I am not sure why they offered removing the toenail before they had a confirmed diagnosis. Melanoma that isn’t treated can metastasize and you could lose your toes or worse so it is worth getting it checked.
