Hi. I`ve been taking Bisoprolol 5mg for angina for 6wks now. Devastated at angina news as eat healthily, dont smoke or drink and not overweight. No significant difference since on this drug. Had ;been on Half Inderal LA 80mg for years cos palpitations/anxiety and now been changed to bisoprolol. I`m 63yrs. Anyone any ideas other than other drugs too? Cardiologist suggested amlodopine as well but heard dire side effects of this
Was it a Doctor or Consultant the prescribed the bisop for angina?
How did he say the bisop would help and how did he explain the dosage he prescribed?
As you can tell from the posters here the bisop tends to dull your body and mind whilst it is supposedly helping to reduce blood pressure and reduce pulse rate.
Cardiologist prescribed and not give reason for giving 5mg. I imagine he`s starting at the lower end of treatment for angina. As stated previously he said should start amlodipine too but don't fancy them due to side effects. u?
Beta blockers are tried first according to this so you might ask how long is the trial period
