One week out and i feel great. No nausia, no pain, no vomiting and only had the runs once after chocolate but that subsides and i tried again with a little more success (I like to think i am persistent).
Most days I have the same lunch - chicken, cheese, tomato and lettuce sandwich (white bread) and not an issue. I even has cheese the day of my surgery with no issues. I’ve not tried anything hardcore like fast food but im hoping on day ill be alright to eat come chips! im not going to lie my favourite food is a cheeseburger so ill be aiming to have one every now and again! but all in all i feel good!
I had attacks prior to my surgery but was never someone who lived with constant cramping or pain.
So far, so good! There are positives dont listen to all the negatives.
hi well done
I’m just 12 months post op and eat what I like. the only thing that doesn’t agree too well is eggs but it’s nothing major- just looser than normal. Post op i re introduced one thing at a time and did things gradually . immediately post OP chocolate drink didn’t go too well but everything else was ok and even that later ( abt 2 months ) was fine.
can certainly say my OP was successful as I’d got to state of being only able to eat abt 5 things and even they didn’t always suit.
but anyway enjoy being normal again - it’s great: )
That is brilliant news!!! funny though as I still have problem with eggs a year on.
hi. think it must be the high fat content of the yolk as they were a def no no pre OP. I can eat them in sense no pain but I know they affect things that other fd doesn’t. but as say compared to pre OP I’m not moaning at all lol
Yes, it has taken a year but I can eat just about normally too, having lived on vegatable soup for 18 months, still go steady oń high fat food like cheese, cream etc but thats not a bad thing!! Enjoy:smiling_face:
yes it made me laugh when the consultant sd immediately post OP I could eat what I liked. it didn’t work out like that at all .lol but all gd now. I prefer low fat yoghurts and skimmed milk anyway now.
Luckily my consultant did say that I had a long road ahead of me for it all to settle, small meals often is the key as we now have a constant drip of bile into our stomachs, I do wish a bit more explained when people go in for surgery. But all good now xx
Yay! Incredibly happy for you. I’m over one month post op and I feel great. I definitely think your body will only improve from here on out. I find I can eat almost anything but do still get slight pains from eating eggs. I’ve been taking digestive enzymes before a meal with fat and I feel that these also really help. It’s great to hear success stories so then people aren’t terrified from reading all the other horrors. Best of wishes to you!
One week in, after surgery and I was doing good too, I sincerely hope this continues for you. Yet, 3 years after surgery, and for most of this 3 years I’ve had to deal with multiple problems from bloating, diarrhea, constipation, pains in the area where my gall bladder was removed & more. I’d rather deal with all of this than to have died from a gall bladder infection from the gall stone blockage; however life is no picnic without a gall bladder for me. Being a optimist regarding life in general is my norm, yet I’m realistic & honest as well, thus I’ve shared some of my personal experiences with others on this venue, in hopes that somethings I’ve said may indeed help another person who deals with these same challenges, as well as being supportive to others who may appreciate the time & energy I expend to share on this venue.
It is lovely not to have that pain isn’t it?Well done.
Sarah
Update: Things keep getting better! I have tried cream with success - granted is was low fat but still! Still a little sore around surgery site but its getting better!
