Sudden increase in pain at 6 weeks post op anyone?

6 weeks po last wednesday and i was doing really well. Last night i couldnt sleep because the constant ache in both legs wouldnt let me. I ended up taking one of my last resort morphine pills and am still groggy now, hence being last resort. Today the pain is all at the front of my thigh, right at the top. hurts to weight bear and bend upwards. a week ago i was extending past 90 degrees without htinking and now i cant get anywhere near that.

I have my 6 week check up with the consultant tomorrow so i'll find out then if ive done any permanent damage with my short flight off the chair on wednesday. Feeling a bit low today, like ive sabotaged my recovery with sheer stupidity

I've had the same thing as of late and I'm almost 3 months out. More like restless leg syndrome. It's quite annoying. I ended up takeing my pain pill as well just to let me sleep

Oh Helen, I so sorry yo hear about your pain, I really hope all will be well at the drs. tomorrow,

take care,

Lynne.

ive just replied to you too. shall we just set up our own group and then we can gripe at each other

ive had restless legs for years but this really hurts. grumblegrumble

Hi Helen

Sorry you are in pain. Please don't beat yourself up about it. It happened and nothing you can do till you see your surgeon tomorrow..

Please let us know what your surgeon says tomorrow. I really hope it is nothing serious.

I will be 10 weeks post op this coming Tuesday and I still feel sore if I touch my skin or press too hard. Both legs are affected now since my hip collapsed on the right side. I was told it would take about 9 months for it all to settle down and all the swelling to go on the operated side.. But I am not sure if when they do the other leg in two weeks if that will also set me back again. So I know how you feel for sure. Fingers crossed for you tomorrow.

I can relate to you about the pain, I think like you it the bending over 90 degree I see my surgeon on 25th I will be interested to hear what surgeon says about. Please keep me informed I will join you and miele to form our own group lol

I can relate to you about the pain, I think like you it the bending over 90 degree I see my surgeon on 25th I will be interested to hear what surgeon says about. Please keep me informed I will join you and miele to form our own group lol also just spent the weekend at the caravan (it's tourer) and to get in the bed had to go on all fours by kneeling and using hands I did wonder if I had put too much of strain on my both my hips

That's something else I noticed. My hip feels as though it has caved in on the side. I love this forum because you get to see exactly how others are dealing with their issues.

Hi miele

Do you mean you feel like your operated side has caved in ?

If so and you are in pain you need that looking as ASAP.

Oh Helen .... i am so sorry too ... but yes, or no, please stop beating your self up -

I will be 14 weeks post op tomorrow but honestly,I feel pretty  bad right now .. these last couple of days I can barely stand up straight without holding on to something (my back !!!! never had a back problem ) - pain in hip, around knees and upper thigh .... sitting, lying down, walking , it all feels so uncomfortable ... I am sitting right next to you and may I please join you in your group ???

warm hug

p.s. I am not getting any notifications from this forum any more ... wazzup with that ???? I feel so alone

Hi renee

I havn't had any forum notifications for about 10 days so you are not the only one.

Check your settings in case you have accidentally turned them off but like yourself I am getting pain in the hip that hasn't been done also back ache, I know this weekend hasn't been particularly good for me because thought we would try out our caravan and found getting into bed was awkward as I had to crawl in and of course the seating is uncomfortable for sleeping on nothing like your own bed at night time, I see the surgeon on 25th see what he says about the other hip because he Sid that they were bad as each other xx

Hi marilyn

I havn't touched the settings on the forum. No idea where to find those either yet. From what I can tell my op for my right hip will be exactly 3 months to the day from  having my left hip done and it isn't just my hip that is really painfull. My knee is so bad and swollen I can't even straighten it and I have a stabbing pain running down the fron of my shin. When I lay in bed my toes and full leangth of lower right leg goes cold and totally numb. I dare not even try to lay on my operated side yet either.

Hello Helen

Sorry to hear you are having problems. I'm also six weeks post op and our post operative team don't advise going past 90 degrees for months and not at all if you don't need to.

Let's hope all is well when you see your consultant

I can feel a large indentation. I only have a little pain if I touch it or try to lay on it

Hi Hailea!

I would talk to your doctor to see why you're in so much pain and swollen. Also, I would definitely see about the leg and your toes.

Hi Helen.  I had an awful night last night too. Both legs were so uncomfortable. Tried painkillers and not much help. I am nearly 10 weeks post op.  I also am feeling it in my back and not sure why.  Only thing I can think of is that as hip feels better I am trying to do too much.  Hope your check up goes okay and you have more success with answers to any questions than I did.

Hope your feeling ok after your weekend away where did you go?

We went to a caravan site called woodlands it's about 5 miles from Holt, but to quite honest although I enjoyed being away, I didn't enjoy the sleeping I just couldn't get comfortable ended up on my left side and painful to lay on back, this morning was a effort to take Cleo for a small walk but I did it, I have also got a further 4 weeks off work

I was in a lot of pain this morning as we had a couple of days in the caravan, in fact I found getting in and out of bed very uncomfortable as for me to get into bed I had crawl across the bed on my knees so that put a bit of strain on the hips, but tonight it has felt better
