Hello, just realized that stupid-me has been posting in the Prostate forums, but my problem came from a sudden onset, not gradual retention, although my prostate is supposedly 50ml.

The retention was cleared by a Foley catheter, and 2 liters of urine flowed out.

A symptoms website indicated more than 20 causes.  I feel so confused now, since I initially thought that prostate was the issue.

What tests did you get?

Here's a snip from a medical site:   Depending on the underlying cause, as many as 70 percent of acute urinary retention cases recur within a week after initial treatment. BPH causes most recurrences.
