I have had my band 2 years now, my last fill was in April last year and has been very steady since with a gradual weight loss. I was able to eat normaly (normal being a banders normal that is) on xmas day. I then came down with a virus and havn't been able to eat since, not even chocolate and that is unheard of for me. It's as if I hvae had a fill and been over filled???? Is this normal for having a cold virus as it has never happened before. Does anyone have any ideas? Do I need to go for an unfil, this I am reluctant to do as it was absolutly fine and at the right place before I came down with the cold.
I would ring up your Band provider to be on the safe side. I know stress and illness can tighten the band. Maybe go back to a liquid diet for a couple of days to see if that helps. Let me know how you get on x
I have done the liquid diet for a week with no change, which my surgon advised me to do. I know he will want to see me and unfil which I would rather avoid as I was just fine before I got this mucus cold!!!
When you are unwell your band tightens as if you have had a fill, this is due to excess abdominal fluid that causes the band to tighten.
