I has a cystoscopy recently which came up clear. Then had a CT scan which also came up clear (I assume that was to check for cancer cells in other organs and presume the Prostate as well). Then 2 weeks later started getting urine passing problems. This advanced pretty quickly over three days. Dr. put me on Tamsulosin oral. Worked almost straight away but then my eyes started stinging like mad. This may be accentuated by itchy eyes I get when the hay fever season starts.
Anyone know if this settles down or other solution? Thanks.
Get the hay fever treated, I doubt the itchy eyes have anything to do with the Tamsulosin.
You don't say your age; BPH is really a phenomenon of older age. Tamsulosin has some well known detrimental side effects on your sexual performance. If that is important, be wary
From list of side effects
Ocular

When and what was the reason for you to have the cystoscopy ? Hank
If the cystoscopy and CT scan showed no issues, I wonder if you didn't get an infection from the cystocopy? How old are you, why did you get a cystocopy in the first place, AND a CT scan?
Hacker,
If you got a UTI from the cystoscopy I would have expected it within a few days not 2 weeks later. Did you take some drugs for your hay fever ? Some hay fever drugs like antihistamines can cause urinary retention, which the Tamsulosin counteracted.

Hacker,
Here is a link to an article about side effects of anti allergy antihistamines:

It mentions trouble urinating.
If you search the internet you can find many more.
