Spent yesterday at Oulton Park watching the classic car racing, my son one his race so that made the day very enjoyable but...because of the cold wind I couldn't spend all day on the open pitts area so sat mostly in the warmth of the car and getting out to walk to the loo's and cafe etc... Today because of not exercising or massaging yesterday my leg is stiff as heck.... had ice bag, heat, messaged and used the exercise bike to get the knee going this morning. I think its going to be a struggle and I have physio on Tuesday, she will not be pleased! but on discussing this with my family they all said my leg wasn't that straight before the op and I didn't limp at all so... going to ask a lot of questions.
The cold does play havoc on the knees. Funny how it did before and does now...I'd not expected that. But I've found it would make me limp terribly (though, the limp before for me was worse). I don't recal how many months out you are from the surgery, but being stiff is normal for quit some time. Sitting, standing, laying in one position for too long does it for me almost all the time. My PT never got upset with me for it. Life happens. The whole reason we had these replacements were so we could live again, right? So live!
I am pleased you had a good day out, ok so u r paying the price today, just take pain relief gentle exercise , ice, all the things you are most probably doings gentle movement only . My knee/leg is stiff today as I walked a little yesterday, I get my clips out Tuesday can't wait, the knee bend is far from right so lets just be patient we will gt there, Physio for me starts Wednesday. Ouch .take care

It was blowing a right hooley and sooo cold but I darent sit down for fear of my knee seizing up so I kept goung from 9 til 3.30. I swear to God my knee is sooo stiff today im back to going 1 leg up and down stairs motion but the worse thing is ive got a flamin blister on that foot probably caused by the way I limped!!!! Its so upsetting that we cant do normal things but I sooo wanted to see Olivia cos shes only 4 and she came 2nd yipppppppppeeeeeee. im just hope the blister doesn't cause an infection im so tired today and now im worried as well!!! Hey Ho lol

Thanks everyone, it seems we all go through this stage at some point. I am 9 weeks PO and wanted to be so much better for Thursday, it my 55th wedding aniversary and the weather in 1960 was sooo hot! fire tenders out in case of grass fires a big change in the weather at the moment. I never thought that the cold would get to me but I really should have done as it does often affect my other knee. Have spent the day so far, resting, massaging using ice and heat, only been on the exercise bike this morning will leave it till tomorrow. Problem is I never had any trouble with my left knee, only the bend which took 6 months to get right and been fine ever since. Andrea, I am doing the one step at a time today it does dishearten you when you have been progressing well. Still one day at a time.
It was my 45 the anniversary two weeks ago so I hope you enjoy yours when it comes, I have rested today, taken relief, looked at exercise bike and laughed may be next week after physio starts, we will get there one day at a time, thank you everybody x
