Suffering with TMJ

Hi,

I’m new to this but when i was searching some of my symptoms up, this site came up. I am 18 years old (f), & I’ve had TMJ for around 2 years now. I developed lockjaw on my left side (which then switched onto the right side) a few years ago & then one morning I woke up about a year later & my right side was completely locked. As of today, I can only open my mouth wide enough to fit my thumb inside. I have tried using night guards, acupuncture & I got scans which tell me nothing about how this happened or what I can do to make it better. I have really bad memory now, it is difficult for me to remember what I ate during the day & I basically cannot retain short term information. I also started getting this feeling of my ears being completely full as well as really bad dizziness every time I get up (I got tested for anemia a while back because I have really low blood pressure & heart rate but nothing came up). Another thing I have is a swollen(?) thyroid, which my family doctor noticed & I got an ultrasound for this but again nothing turned up. The memory symptom is the worst part of this because I’ve just started my first university year & it’s been so difficult for me to keep focused. When there are big texts to read, it just goes through my head, I literally cannot retain the information unless I read it over and over again. Every doctor/dentist/ENT I go to just tells me that I need to find an oral surgeon after charging me $500/visit. I have spent thousands of dollars on treatments & meetings that have turned up with nothing to help me. I feel so horrible for my parents because we don’t have insurance & they’ve just been paying for all these expensive treatments that turned up with nothing.

Does anyone know what I can do about any of this or give suggestions for anything that might’ve given them relief? Thank you so much.
