Suggestions for improving medication adherence

Low adherence to our medications as a result of forgetfulness is an issue that most of us are dealing with. I have found many different solutions to it. However, I want to know what has been the most effective adherence solution for you and what is your suggestion?

My method for consistantly taking my med's is....

(1)   My Coversyl BP med's come in a blister pack.   I pre mark the foil that covers each pill with a fine pointed sharpie for the corresponding date that I'd need to take it on so that I always can refer back to it, if I can't remember if I've taken it or not.

(2)   My alarm on my phone is set to  go off at the time I need to take my pill.

I put any meds I take in a dish on my bedside table.

My wife leaves her two packet beside the kettle in the kitchen and writes the date on the pack as she takes them

I once bought a second hand phone where the previous owner had left his reminder on.

I Use a phone alarm

For me the most important thing is having a routine. I take a total of 10 different tablets plus insulin and they are all either morning or evening or both., so I make it part of my waking and going to bed routine, with 2 different containers of tablets. The only medication that does not fit in the routine is the insulin I have to take just before my evening meals which I have been known to take late (ie after my meal) if I do not remind myself with the alarm on my mobile.

Have you ever tried any reminder app? There are a bunch of them available, but I'm not sure how effective they could be.

Yeah, it's a good idea to tie it to something you do habitually. Wondering if you have ever tried any reminder app? Not sure how effective they might be.

'Yes I think I should use a reminder app on my tablet. Thank you for the rncouragement
