Hi James, I hope by now you have followed Debs advice and called your Local mental health team. You are able to rationalise your thoughts as just thoughts. Are you on any medication? Alot of psychological meds can are that side affect. Try writting down what you are feeling so you can see it on paper. I know it's a tough situation to be in as before my diagnosis, I had suicidal tendancys when I was really down, and still get them when I consider myself to be in a good mood. Its important that you know yourself that these are just passing thoughts and there is no valid reason to carry them out, it would be a long term solution for a short term problem. Speak to a specialist and try to learn what is causing you to feel like this, whether its depression or a chemical imbalance, knowing what it is makes it alot easier to deal with. Be strong and heed Debs advice. I hope things get better for you. Keep us posted with anything thats troubling you and we will do our best to help. Al
Je vais chercher de l'aide..... pensez-vous qu'ils vont me garder ? J'ai une famille mais je ne veux pas rentrer avant d'aller mieux
J'ai tout prévu. C'est très effrayant.
Hi James, I'm not to sure if you are in the UK or US? Depending on your age and who you are going to see, any professional has a Duty of care to make sure that you are safe from harming yourself or others. I should imagine that they would keep you in if you let them know how you are feeling. I can only speak from experiance from the UK, but it should be the same where ever you are. It would be helpful if I knew if you were 18+ or under. Have you had any previous relations with Mental health services? Or on any Meds? You mention that you have Family, it's obvious you don't want to speak to them right now, but if you end up having a stay in Hospital then they will have to know at some point. Each patient is evaluated and will not be left untill they feel comfortable. I can tell you that a PSYC Ward is not the most homely place in the world.
No worries James, I would use A&E as a last resort as they are not really geared up for Mental health, but saying that I would recomend calling NHS direct (111) and they will give you the best help thats avalible in your area. But if you don't want people to turn up at your house, then take yourself to A&E but set yourself up for a long night. or explain to NHS direct you dont want people coming to your house. brb, just checking if there are any other options for you.........hang on in there.
Hello again James, NHS direct is your best bet if you don't want to wait untill tomorrow. Try and be cool, getting worked up will just mak you panic. You are on your way to getting help, just let them know what you are thinking and they will probably ask about your plan that you mentioned, don't be affraid to tell them about it., Al
