I find this site quite hard to navigate at times due to all the ads that push the screen up, but i shall habe a look at your posts. Just quickly where were u at the 6 week mark? What activities were u doing?
I might have a rest day today. Im not in pain but whole body a bit stiff from yesferday so if non operated parts are stiff my new hip area is bound to be stiff as well.
Rest day today. Im in no pain at all no reaction to yesterday but whole body is lactic acid and stiff a bit so that may be a sign to rest. Ill go to gym tomorrow. Today ill sit on sofa and listen to football.
Checking in with everybody to see how your weekend progressed. I’m off to spin class this morning. Gotta keep everything moving and in good working order pre surgery,
Had a massibe three mile walk on saturday and totally rested yesterday. Today went to gym and did 10 mins cycling and 5 mins step then hydrotherapy. Everything is fine mild pain on outer hip and in groin but feel very good. Really think ive got lucky.
3 miles is fantastic! Smart of you to rest for a day before exercising again. Wish your pain would go away totally already but hopefully it will in time. Spin was good. I only started this past April, but from 2.2 miles ( hey stop laughing 😆 and feeling like I was going to throw up,I’m now consistently doing a minimum of 5.5 miles and have even gotten to 7 miles once. I’m the oldest in the class lol. But that’s ok. It will be interesting to see the improvement after the THR. Don’t know how much spinning I will do after surgery as I will then have the option to get back on the tennis court, and walking🤸♀️In my neighborhood which is beautiful and hilly. I live in Las Vegas and the weather is just perfect this time of year. Seems mostly of the people on this post are English. 😁
EVERYONE LOVES VEGAS ❣️ How can you not? I’ve been here for 11 years, originally from NYC. I love living here not course when you live here you avoid going to The Strip if possible.
Glad you you had a good workout day. It really sounds like you are well on the road to recovery. I guess it will jus take a while for the groin pain to subside.
And btw: BOO! 👻
It will be interesting to see the progress after surgery. Starting the month countdown. Lol.
Ibwas in NYC last year as well and loved it there as well. Whwre do u prefer. Just back from gym and everything going well but fornthis groin pain that seems to now be persistent. Very mild and not restricting me but it is there.
Keep up your exercises will reap rewards after op xx
Maybe you need to check in with your Dr about the groin pain? Maybe you need to totally rest and are aggravating anything that’s going on. It’s a shame that this is happening to you because otherwise your recuperation has been amazing!
NYC is amazing. I lived there for many years. But now its so nice to be back n a house, have outdoor space,a washer & dryer in my house and a garage that I don’t have to pay extra for. I go back to visit and now I feel the city is either for the young or the very rich. You pretty much work to either pay your rent/mortgage. Sex and the city was pretty much a fantasy. Lol. I love the lifestyle out here. It’s much less expensive to live. Everything is relatively new with beautiful blue skies against every changing views of mountains. I think you just appreciate different things at different times of your life.
Check in with your Dr and let us know what they say. Goodnight. 😴
Happy Guy Fawks day to you and anyone else on this forum that celebrates as well! Was it fun? So do you Mr. Cronin when you go back for checkup. How often do you need to do this. Fares from Vegas to Phoenix are so cheap that I won’t mind having to go for a follow up visit.
Hope you continue to do well and that the groin pain subsides.
This my first appt with mr cronin on thursday and i dont know how often he will see me
Sadly today im in a bit more pain than for a long time. Maybe ive been oberdoing it but groin and thigh are sore. Im surprised ive had a bit of a flare up tbh as i thought from here on it woukd be smooth sailing.
I was due to go to gym tomorrow maybe ill have a lazy day on couch. Lol xx
Sounds like you need to get better acquainted with your couch. Lol. I wonder if you had torn anything pre surgery. Let us know what the Dr says. Feel better!
Actually went to gym yesterday and felt alot better when came home. Going again today as next two days will be seeing two different consultants one for my hip and other for my neck as i have a disx problem in my neck tjat may need operating on.
Happy to hear you are feeling better. Thought you were going to just take it easy until you saw your Dr? Omg...totally crazy about your neck.. I truly hope you don’t need surgery. See what happens at 42? You start falling apart. Lol. 😫
I’m doing great. Pre op tests this week. Did 6 miles on spin bike yesterday. Leg bothering me a bit...which keeps reminding me why I am glad that I am going to have this done and over with. Lots of buzz from my old tennis friends that they are excited to be getting me back on the courts. 🏸
Next Tuesday I fly to Phoenix for my 3D CT scan and then it’s “real” countdown time. 🏨. I’m trying to just stay calm and not stress myself out about having surgery for the 1st time ever.
I have soooo much confidence in Dr Chow, but the reality of surgery is just a scary reality. Other than that piece of cake 🎂,! Lol. So,not thinking about it...just telling myself Dr Chow feels like it’s a no big deal surgery and that’s the attitude I’m going with! 🤗.
Inwas supposed to take it easy but had that exercise urge lol.
Youbare ddoing great keeping exercising and you may recober quicker than me post op. Most important thing i must stress is dont get despondent first few days after op as youbwill be sore and hardly able to move your leg. Dont panic. Enjoy the rest!!
Take it easy first three weeks and you will see that your movement gets better once the muscles heal and recover. So basically plan for a very relaxing month and then step up the exercises after a month. Most importabt thing first month is walking at least 30 mins a day with crutches.
My appointment with surgeon has moved to monday now.
r u disappointed that you are not going tomorrow? Hate to admit it but I never have the urge to exercise. NOW working is another story I love to work. Love hearing what you went through, so I know what to expect. Funny, Dr Chow never mentioned use-of crutches at all. I’m truely planning on really resting the entire month of December. I’ll pretend I’m retired. LOL. I’ll follow Dr Chow‘s instructions to a T. In the meantime you take it easy, and feel better. Have a great night Gerri
I was told im doing averagely well for my age. I have nothing to worry about with implant but my glutes need alot of work. So im back under suoervison of physio.
I have been told its too early to run and that im still very early in recovery as it will be 4 to 6 months before being back to normal.
Day to day activities are fine although im tryijg to swing more time off work lol.
So good to hear from you. I'm sure you are disappointed in your recovery, but its good to know that you are doing well for your age, especially the fact that the implant is fine. Did the Dr say anything about you doing too much activity when you first came home? Is the groin pain from lack of other muscle use?? What kind of work do you do?
I cant believe that my surgery will be in less than 2 weeks. Flew in to Phoenix last Tuesday for my CT scan and am now pre registered with the hospital. I'm starting to get a bit anxious over this whole thing... and I am not the worrying type. Trying to get business wrapped up and of course when you need that to happen it never does.. but I'm starting to have more noticeable pain, which only confirms that having this done now is the right decision. I've been lucky to have not been in pain at all, when I know so many people have suffered terribly before having the surgery done. Anyway.. I am happy to hear you are ok and doing well.. But do what your PT tells you!! Will keep you posted from Phoenix! Arghhhhh!! lol
Has anyone on this website have the surgery since last posting??
