After having traumatised my urethra with some many catheters I had a suprapuibc catheter fitted on Saturday. Since then I've been in hospital with an infection and bad pain. Today I've woke up feeling extremely sick with diarrhoea.
I was just wondering if anyone else had a bad experience of a suprapuibc catheter? I'm hoping this will all settle down I'm a 21 year old female and waiting on some bladder tests.
Hi Feel sorry for the experience your having, and lve no personal experience of s catheters, had ordindary ones in short term and also got infection from them. But l,m, sure someone on the c.o.b - cysitus and overactive bladder, forum will have experienced them, as the site specialises in bladder problems, sure they will advice. best wishes
Hi thank you for your reply. Yeah that was the same as me with the infections, is that forum on here? I'm still in hospital at the moment so in the best place as having real issues with it.
Hi yes the c o b forum is online, lve looked in and posted in past, and read about s catheters, l have intersticial cystitus of long standing, was adviced to join suport group, it used to be `wee ray of hope` but taken over by cob think its Dawn who runs it now. Hope they can get you sorted out soon, and yes its best place to get it done, l know it can sometimes take a bit of time. Best Wishes.
Hi, I'm not sure of this is how to ask, But my father inlaw has diabetes, siriciosos of the liver, and bladder, and kidney problems, well,he has to put in a catheter every time he pees. Tonight he said he put in the catheter, and can't pee,and it's been over 3 hours. Should we be concerned?
Is your father self catheterising? If he is then can you ask him if he feels any type of obstruction when putting it in, and if it feels different to when he usually self catheterises.
Let me know them answers and I can try help you from there also, how old is your father if you don't mind me asking?
