Hi,
Anyone had this type of surgery at the luton and dunstable hospital, it's day surgery and keyhole to remove 7cm Dermoid Cyst on ovary?
I'm staying over night and wondered what happens on the day, can someone stay with me until I'm called for surgery??
what happens after, do they inform a relative I've had surgery?
anything else important I need to know? I'm so nervous about the anaesthetic!,
Thanks!
I can't speak for this hospital but is usually yes to the first but your relative will need to get a time to ring them. They usually only ring in the very unlikely situatiion there is a problem. Check with them though as all hospitals vary
If it's the same as my recent experience then yes someone can stay with you until you are called. And then they gave my husband a number to call later in the day. Good luck.xxx...you will be fine ..everything gets explained to you.xx
As to anaesthetic the college of anaesthetists has some good and simple leaflets, you should have been given one at your pre assesment clinic but if you wish just let me know and I'll let you have the links
Thank you I'm looking at their website now
Oh so glad cos I have to wait at least 2.5hours from arrival until they start operating and could use the company to distract me from my nerves. Thanks!
Brill. A good starting point is their leaflet Anaesthesia Explained
So just been for my final blood test before my op on Thursday, omg so nervous now! I know it's routine and I'm being a wimp but I will be soo relieved when I wake up the other side of this.
Will be thinking of you and sure you will be OK but yeah nerves are usual. Tell yourself I'm not a wimp just a human being.
Big hugs
