On Monday I'm having my staples removed, is it really as bad as I imagine it to be?!
Did not hurt at all, mind you THR nurse was very very experienced and as, by then I had stopped the painkillers, I did take some about an hour before that point ent
Hi, I didn't think it was anywhere near as bad as I had imagined. You should be fine. I had staples when I had a c section and was expecting them to be painful when they were being taken out - they weren't that bad. Getting them taken out of your posterior is even easier. It will be over before you know it x
didn't hurt at all, and I was petrified lol. I had 18 out took about 3 minutes. Don't worry you'll be fine xx
Hi Steph don't sorry I had well over 50 staples not one of them hurt while being removed, honestly and it feels great when they are out mine were just beginning to pinch.
Depends entirely on the nurse doing it, I have had no pain from one & a fair bit of pain from another. Better to take pain killers before procedure.
It doesn't hurt, I had 2 that were a bit tight and they pinched a little. The nurse has to get the clip remover under the clip to remove it. I didn't feel most of mine. I've taken heaps out myself (I'm a nurse) and find the trick is to go slow. Ask the nurse to slow down if you need to, if you have lots ask her to stop for a break.
hope all goes well 👍🌈💌
Hi Steph ... not bad at all - a little prick here an there; what a relief when they are out ...I was expecting the worst - Who is taking them out?
Mine was done by the physian's assistant in the hospital ... wear something soft though .. scar will be tender and jeans are just too rough on the skin .. at least for me ...
have a good and peaceful night
I had mine removed Monday and Tuesday. Just a see pinch. Nothing to what we have been through before and after.
Ps as have replied already. Mine were taken out by a first year nursing student and as I said already justvtge slightest pinch. Good luck
I had staples with my first surgery last year and I could barely feel them being removed.
You should do fine.
A nurse and my local doctors surgery will be removing them.
Hi Steph, I had mine taken out 12 days post surgery and was also expecting the worst. I took an Endone or you could take 2 panadol around 30 mins before they do it. I hardly felt a thing, maybe a little pinch where the skin had grown over them a little but to be honest the relief I felt after having them out was worth it. I didn't realise it at the time but some of the pain I was having was actually the staples pulling so once they were out I felt much better. I also kept my waterproof dressing on for around three days after just to be sure before showering without a dressing.
