Sushi??

I had my first infection about a month ago, so I’m still eating soft, low fiber foods. Has anyone eaten sushi this soon after infection? And by sushi, I mean a very basic rice, seaweed, fish roll.

Basic rice, good organic seaweed may be good. But, if you're talking about a real sushi roll - AKA raw fish, and hot tamari sauce, I'd advise stick with what you've been eating in the wake of the infection. Think about the possibility of nasty bacteria carried into the gut via the fish. I'm just saying. I'd stay away from the sushi for real. Good luck.

Thanks. :-(

What do you think about farther down the line? Is that something that you would stay away from forever? Or just so soon after infection? And I have also heard no red meat? I’m reading so much information, I just don’t know what’s what. No red meat now? Or forever?

Jason68261, I would stay away from red meat all together.  Not only is it not good for you in general it can irritate your disease.  I tried red meat with out thinking and I was down for two days.  My gut hurt SO BAD... I had to go back to a liquid diet for a couple days until my gut felt better. Then I added my white bread, yogurt, eggs and apple sauce back in.  I can now eat chicken, as long as it is cooked with mild seasons.  Get your protine from other foods.   that is my opinion, but I am so new to this disease too.  I spent 5 days in the hospital for this disease and was just released on the 26th of last month.  My first follow up with my GI dr is on the 16th.  So I hope to find out more.
