Suspected mini stroke

Hi there, about 7 weeks ago I suffered a suspected mini stroke whilst at work, this was very scary as I was on my own, so i called 111 and went through all the questions and before I knew it an Ambulance was there!

I was slightly confused, some loss in in my right eye, numb and weakness from my face to my foot Right side.

i am now on Clopidogrol and awaiting a further assesment.

Has anyone else sufferd this?

Gavin, my son did.  He didn't realise he'd had a stroke as it happened in his sleep, so didn't get in quickly with the Clopidogrel like you and as a result has remaining peripheral vision loss.  He was also prescribed statins.  However, he's fine apart from that, and I'm sure you will be too as you acted urgently.  Hopefully the hospital will refer you for some physio/exercise.  Good luck.

Hi Gavin,

Yes but mine was both eyes,(blurred) severe headache, numbness/weakness on my left side (head to toe ) also confusion and apparently I was drooling the night before the above all happened. I was assesed with in 24 hrs and was also put on Clopidogrel.

Hello Gavin, I too have had a tia - mine was the 22nd July this year. I had been on warfarin for over 12years (for suffering pulmonary embolism twice). They changed my medication to now be rivaroxaban. I know that you may think my previous medical issues are not quite what you are wanting to hear about but I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone in this... And yes it's considerately scarey and can sometimes be life changing! So much for me doing my usual 10+ exercise a week - mother nature can throw anything she fancies in your path to trip you up! Lol.Take care.
