Hi, Just about to go to doctors and dont know whether I am making a big mistake!! Been on citalopram for 10 years (60mg to 40mg) - but have staretd to get very bad anxiety attacks over the past 8 months - I dont feel the medication is working anyore - however I equally do not know whether this could be a bad move.
Does anyone have any experience of Lexapro? Or experience of changing a.d.s after such a long time?

Hi Rosary, I was on Venlefaxine for years until a couple of years ago when I had a relapse and it stopped working despite me being on the max dose, I was switched over to a tricyclic antidepressant Clomipramine which did the job for me.
Unfortunately ive no experience with Lexapro.

I was on Lexapro for 3 years and thought it was the greatest. Had no side effects and felt happy and could deal with life. Then one day it just stopped working. Have been on several and they have all stopped working after a year. Very frustrating. The worst was getting off Effexor when it stopped working. Experienced extreme dizziness and had to taper off slowly. Lexapro was the best during the time it was effective. Good luck.
