swapping zopiclone for valium.

Iam on zopiclone and have been told about the ashton method has anyone tried it.and did it work x

I have not but 100s of people have done it

And are now free of valium (diazepam) and

Zopiclone 😊

Hi sarah03222 , yes it does work this is how I got off zopiclone :-) I started my taper from zopiclone to diazepam in September last year I was so scared as I knew only to well what the withdrawal syptoms were like coming off of zopiclone , but they were making me very sick to so had to stop taking them , I did 2 weeks at 10 mgs of diazepam and a few 2 mgs through the day and then at the end of the 2 weeks started reducing by 1 mg per night but still had some through the day , I am not going to lie the first few nights were hard but more bearable than just going cold turkey and one week in I was having a muck about with my son he has autistic spectrum disorder and sometimes does not realise his own strength he broke my ribs :-( so lack of sleep , slight withdrawal and tramadol for pain which did not help I really struggled and felt like giving up but I didn't , it's now been nearly 9 months and I have not had one zopiclone :-) it's not been easy I still don't sleep great and the temptation is always there but I fight it , I have a pack in my medicine drawer but I don't even look at them I keep them as a reminder of the fact that I beat them and they are a horrific drug that ruins lives , so give it a go please you will get your life back I did :-)

Yes I've done it successfully, using the Diazepam cross over. My GP was very supportive. I started on 9 mg Diazepam and reduced about one mg every few weeks to start with. I'm still on the last 2mg as each reduction has taken a couple of weeks to stabilise and sometimes I've been scared to drop again. But The Zopiclone withdrawal symptoms only  really lasted one night and I've never been tempted to take any since then. Even  though my sleep is a bit patchy, I haven't had any of the horrible Zopiclone hangover symptoms which prompted me to give up. 14 years of that drug and I'm free of it. The Ashton method was a huge help.

Thank you for your advice iam definitely going to ask my doctor next week.how long did you take the valium and did you not get withdrawl from that x

Im not sure on how this forum works, I have been taking zopiclone for just over a year, really want to come off it, really want to sleep normal again ????, I need advice rather the "this doesnt work " messages, so if anyone can offer support, help and what i can ask my DR to help me with, I have to see her on Monday, so looking forward to hearing positive things   rob
