Hi
I'm sure other people who suffer from social anxiety have similar issues and I'm positive it will be something that therapists are used to dealing with so don't let that worry you. Go and get the best our of your session and try not to think about it. You will get to know your therapist and feel comfortable so hopefully after a couple of sessions or three the problem won't be so bad.
Hi there
My partner suffers with anxiety and his sweating is really bad.
Hey look into know I've in sessions before and I've been sweating from my head and nose bad. They take no notice. If they do they will will empathise as they've seen this loads before did will again you know!!
My partner gets it before work and other situation, under his arms and it pools in his hands.
It's just not as easy as saying you'll be okay i know.
It's a problem for you.
It get worse when he knows he's going so he has a wash just before and put a good antiperspirant on. He takes another top if he needs too.
Have you been to see the Dr as they can prescribe
Something for you there are things out there to alleviate the symptoms.
God luck on Wednesday
Deep breaths longer out than in ..
Let us know you will be OK
We are here

Im the same i take an extra tshirt to work just incase it gets to bad . I dont think id panic as much if it was my body that sweats but it just seems to be my head my hair gets so wet even when its freezing. Thanks for your reply
Yeah i hope so. Thanks for your reply
Yes, been there done that and got the soggy t-shrt to prove it. I also get a very red neck and chest. I had counselling years ago and was embarrassed but then decided to make a joke about it because I thought it better I spoke up. I said something like - do you have a mop and bucket and she laughed and said not to worry she sees it all the time. I found after that it started to calm down coz I knew she was not looking at me thinking I was sweaty Betty lol. It's when you try to cover it up it gets worse - be honest and break the ice - your brain will thank you and start relaxing.
Lol thanks for the reply. its nice to no im not the only one it happens to. Ive told her already over the phone. And she said not to worry she see it all the time. But just cant shift the worry. I just hope to good i wake up in a confident mood tomorrow.
Sweating is a common anxiety response. It's unlikely that anything you do or say will surprise an experience counselor, they've seen it all more than once.
If you don't, don't worry - when you have attended your appointment, you will feel a release. Not sure if you have been before, but I felt very much better just talking it through.
That is right about the deep breaths; I also found that the out breath is far more effective through the mouth. In breath through the nose, out breath through the mouth.
That's right - and the way to put it into perspective is to remember, we are all exposed to it - counsellors included. He/she may tomorrow be hit by it.
My hubbs is a very confident person, does not panic and has always said I am silly to get in an anxiety state. He speaks his mind and runs his own company. Some stress here and there, but actually loves his job. Out of the blue, he has had two panic attacks!!!! He thought he was having a heart attack, but because I know what panic feels like, I was able to tell him what it was. It passed. Anyone can be affected at any time and this in itself makes us anxious peeps feel much better.
