my doctor decided to switch my medication from ecscitalopram to sertraline among ago. He lowered the ecscitalopram to 10mg a day for 8 days and then started the sertraline 50mg with it and then after that 100mg for the lst 3 weeks. My anxiety is sky high at the moment. Was wondering if this could be the withdrawal from ecscitalopram or the new sertraline. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Hi gill. I would say its a bit of both..your brain has to get used to this new med.although I dont know why he put it up to 100mg....was 50 not working.?mayby taking it a bit slower might help..I cant take sertraline higher than half of a 25mg tablet..tried it and I got raging headache..I stopped them altogether..was thinking of trying ecscitalopram..did they poop out on you..??
He started me on 50 mg but only for 4 days and then up to 100 mg, which is the equivalent to the 20mg of escitalopram. I don't have headaches but the anxiety is bad, The ecscitalopram were great but after 2 years on them the anxiety was coming back.
