Swollen face

Hi

So I have just noticed that my left side of my face is slightly swollen and tender to touch. I am taking 400mg ibrofen to take swelling down but don't want to risk using ice...

Has anyone else had this before with TN attacks? X

Hi,

Yes I get a slight swelling on my TN affected side too sometimes. I'm already on anti inflammatory drugs for other things(I hate getting old!!) but I do take ibuprofen too when this happens. I agree about the ice...It doesn't bear thinking about!

Hi

Reassuring to know I am not the only one! I couldn't think of anything worse than putting ice on! Can just about have a drink!

Thank you

You're welcome Hannah...I'm struggling badly right now. My partner bought me an ice hockey drinking bottle so that I can squirt water to the back of my throat, the bottle is enormous, but it does work! As long as I can avoid choking!!

Yes, the Tn side of my face is always swollen when I have an attack and even for a while after. I take Panadol Osteo as it has a mild anti-inflammatory property. I can not take normal anti-inflammatories as I take Warfarin and they don't go together.
