good morning
usual rubbish night, dealing with that though
my question is. I am one and half weeks post op. I am walking with one stick, can do quite a few things now, and so far am happy with my progress
this morning I have woken up with a very sore swollen knee. I am wondering if it is because I sit in a chair with a bent leg a lot of the time. anyone else had this problem. I think it will be two ice packs today!

Hi Carol
I'm nearly 4 weeks post op and have been suffering with a swollen knee since week 2. It can get quite hot and painful at times. I've been doing the recommended ice, elevation, drinking lots of water & ibuprofen with little impact. This week my physio gave me a Tubigrip which I wear from my knee up. This seems to be helping and the swelling is starting to reduce. TEDs from the knee down and Tubigrip from the knee up needs some perseverance but it may be worth a try if all else fails.
I asked my physio what was causing the swelling; doing too much, sitting or not doing enough walking and he said it's just one of those things - some of us swell more than others.
Hope the ice works for you!!
hi carol
i had swollen knee for 2 to 3 weeks. it suddenly disappeared. I know I was doing a lot for the second week as like you felt able to get about but the knee swelled up at night. However after the end of 2nd week just disappeared. so hoping yours will do so too.

Thanks Maggie nice to know
carol
thanks. Mum had a knee op and I got her a ice sleeve for that so I think I am going to borrow it
I had the same and was warned for it too Carol.
The swelling from the hip travels down as youbstrt moving about. First I had stiff muscles, then a bummed knee, then a shin that hurt with no way to get rid of it, until finally my ankle annoyed me fir a few days. All this over some two-three weeks. Been fine sice! :-)
Thanks, as long as I know it's nothing 'nasty' I can cope
Vert early days yet, perhaps legs up on the bed, late morning and late afternoon, for at least 30 mins each time
Thank you all good advice
