Had a severe diverticulitis flare-up....no fever, but horrible pain, nausea, for 4/5 days then diarrhea for 4 days. Went to hospital for the pain. CTScan showed diverticula, and very swollen lymph in groin area. They did not put me on antibiotics because no fever and blood counts were all good. Did no food for 3 days then just liquid for 3 days then soft food for three days....still being very careful what I eat. No pain for three days!! But lymph nodes still feel swollen....has anyone had this happen?
I always have swollen lymph nodes on the left side of my groin infection or imflamtion it doesn't seem to care. I have never asked why. It makes walking and bending a little more difficult.

In February i discovered a lump just above my groin on the left side , i mentioned this to my GP and he said it was my bowel that was inflamed , a few weeks later I suffered a very bad flare for. Which I was given antibiotics and since then the lump/swelling has got much worse, last Saturday I had a sigmoidoscopy and they found the pockets in my bowel had got worse since my diagnosis after a colonoscopy 4 years ago, I am having a CT scan tomorrow .. I have been imagining all sorts of nasty things but no one has suggested it might be lymph nodes. I get lots of pain from this swelling and it hurts when I turn over in bed or get up from the sitting position. . I thought I was alone with this swelling , thank you i think you may have given me the answer I have been looking for.
Yes....very uncomfortable! Laying on my left side hurts the most.....sitting also . I always have a little pain from the diverticulosis.....but never a flare up like this 😢. Flare up much better but lymph nodes still sore. I never realized flare up could be like this....glad I found posts from other people who suffer with this....I feel a little less “crazy” . Doctor says I shouldn’t have pain from it
