The past two days I've experienced some swelling on the left side of the tip of my penis. It itches a little here and there but nothing extreme. No pain when I'm peeing. However, I'm extremely nervous. Is this what herpes looks like?

Yes, I had unprotexted anal sex 2-3 weeks ago and received oral sex a little over a week ago. I knew both guys and they were disease free as far as I know .... which I'm aware means nothing in 2017. I do masterbate usually once a day and don't always use lube which I know can cause irritation.
I don't see any typical lesions, but it looks rather red and sore. Best thing is to see a doctor either way. If you are concerned about herpes, and if your doctor has no issues with it, ask him/her to also swab for herpes (better than the blood test if done asap).
Would there usually be a visible lesion? I know it shows up differently for each individual.
Not always, which is why you should ask for a swab test if you have reason to be concerned about herpes. You don't have a lesion to swab, but the hole looks inflamed (unless that's just the photo), in which case they should still be able to swab it. Certainly a pcr swab, if they have it. Some places won't swab without a lesion, though, so you may have to do the IgG blood test instead at 3+ months if you are still worried.
I'm going to the doctor tomorrow for regular testing but I will also ask for a swab test. Thank you for your advice.
Not that you would know but doesn't hurt to ask, any idea what would cause swelling like that?

I went to the clinic today for testing but the doctor wasn't able to see me and the next available appointment is wednesday. This picture is horrible, can't get my phone to focus, but does the brownish scabby type of thing on the left side resemble a "typical" lesion? It doesn't hurt or itch but it's also not normal.
Starting to worry and Wednesday seems like forever away.

hi im 29 years old chemical engineering and from iran. i have this issue from 2 years ago after only 2 min unprotected relationship .I’ve learned that doctors are useless when it comes to diagnosing a symptom in the absence of positive test results, which made me somewhat obsessive over trying to self diagnose this.After all the research I’ve done over the past 2 years, on a daily basis, I feel I am almost an expert in this topic lol. and now I guess this bumps is immunologic action against some viruses such as EBV CMV and etc .and called lichen planus i hope this information be useful
Dear friends its very important that unfortunately the test results for CMV and EBV viruses were positive for recent infection 1 week after sex.Im sorry

I had oral sex, been in pain and stinging at end of penis for six weeks, did take a urine pcr as thought blisters may be inside but came back Negative. Been treated for ureathtis two different lots of Antibiotics but still have stinging after I pee. Some discomfort at end of penis but still not answers. Going to ask to see a urologist but feel I’m totally on my own. Thought if it was herpes problems would have disappeared by now. Gd luck my friend feel your pain.

Hi John wondered how things panned out. I’ve got a ureathtis and meatus was red, stung after I peed. This is been going on six weeks even with Antibiotics, did you have ureathtis with it, if so for how long.

I have what looks to be exactly the same thing.
Small purple irritation/swollen part on my meatus that comes and goes (flares up) at different times of the day and has caused me irritation for over 5 months now. Been to 8 different doctors and no one can tell me anything. Have had many creams and antibiotics and nothing helping. Getting very desperate. I posted on reddit under the username “tokyoen”.
