Just had my third Synvisc Injection today at total cost of £1500
self funding as BUPA have refused any further payments for this kind of treatment. Will post a progress report on this forum in around 3 weeks. This is the second series of injections that I've had- the last injections kept me mobile for 6 months. Looking forward to some normal activity as the serum does its stuff. On same subject and thinking of my next step - excuse the pun !! - has anyone heard of or had knee surgery by
Mr Dennis Edwards ? I think he is in the Cambridge area
my Best wishes to all
Jude
just wondering....are you too young for a total or partial knee replacement?
I had one set of injections and AXA PPP wouldn't fund any more, as they are not a cure. As it happened, the injections did nothing for me and I then had an arthroscopy, which showed that both of my knees were in a very bad way. Had my first TKR in 2012 and the 2nd one last Sept.
my operations were carried out in Pboro by Richard Hartley.
Yes Judy, I had Total Knee Replacement with general anaesthetic 4 years ago. I am having another TKR this year with local anaesthetic because of the coughing. I am finding the TKR patient forum very interesting and I enjoy supporting other patients. You would too I expect. SSee you there?
Hey Jude,
how are you getting on after your injections?
these synvic injections have been recommended by my surgeon but I'm trying to research them first as I'm still in pain after double knee arthroscopies 5 months ago. ( worse than prior to my ops)
im keen to know the Fors and againsts
many thanks
