Tablet change! Please help

I have been very up and down since starting these tablets in November!

The tablets I got from pharmacy have a different packet this time, and since I started taking the new ones I've felt awful! Is this just a blip? Or could the tablets change have possibly made a difference!

I really need to know if anyone else had experience this

Thanks

Dannielle

I was on sertraline for one and half years and they worked brilliantly, was off them for six months then went back on them again in February. I had terrible side effects and didn't work for me at all, these too were a different packet meaning a different brand so went to the doctors and they changed my meds to Venlafaxine and they have worked so well for me. I would suggest going to your doctors as there could be one ingredient that they have added to the new branded tablet that just doesn't agree with you. Hope that helps x

Hi Dannielle  You are definately not alone!  Whatever the experts say, different brands can interact in different ways, depending on the individual.  Take a look at this discussion - it may help. https://patient.info/forums/discuss/generics-can-they-make-you-feel-this-bad--28893

Hi thanks for your reply! I'm glad I'm not the the only one! Doctors and everyone else keep telling me it's no different, but it feels it to me! Anyway doctor upped the dose of my tablets today too 100mg and the prescription I picked up is the same as the original tablets so hopefully these will be better for me!

Dannielle

Glad to hear that u have been prescribed with the old branded tablets. Hope they work for you x

Hi I've been on sertraline for 6 months first I was given the lustral brand which worked well but for the past two months I've collected my prescription from tesco pharmacy and was given a bright pink box saying sertraline (crescent pharma limited) I've never heard of it and have noticed a massive change in my mood I'm so irritable snappy and tired could this be the change from lustral ?? Please help

Hi Claire, I'm sorry but I don't really have answers myself, the prescription I picked up was the same as your second one, bright pink packet, and I think I definitely felt worse on those tablets than the others!! But doctors and pharmacists have both said it couldn't make any difference !

I have had my dosage increased now, and the 100mg tablets o picked up are the same as the original brand I had, in already starting to feel better!

Thanks for the reply Danielle think I'm just going to monitor the situation for a while longer and if no better see my gp x
