Taking ibuprofen 4 days before laparoscopy? Safe?

Hello

I have a laparoscopy on the 21st to see if i have endometriosis and being the typical anxious person i am, i googled about preparation. Im currently on my period and was in absolute agony earlier and just had to take some nurofen. Ive now read online that you arent supposed to take nsaids in the 2 weeks before laparoscopy. So now im panicking. This is the only dose ive taken. Has anyone else took nsaids before laparoscopy? Am i going to be okay?? Thanks in advance!

I was told to not take it as well 2 weeks before surgery, my dr knew I depended on ibuprofen for minimal functioning but still said the only thing I could take was acetaminophen which does nothing for me so I still took a dosage of 800mg like 6 days before because the pain was just unbearable, I know it sounds irresponsible since I already knew I couldn’t but yeah, I didn’t tell them about it the day of the surgery because I was afraid they would cancel the surgery that I so much needed, I prayed and took the risk lol  ...the problem with  nsaids is that they can thin your blood which makes your prone to bleeding during surgery but I think a dosage will be fine  ...good luck on your surgery

Why oh why would you google this rather than call your doc/surgeon/nurse/gyno? Your medico is familiar with your particular body & situation. The only doctor on Google quacks & walks with a waddle. And we're not docs here, either.

I'm in the States & have had 9 major surgeries, 4 for endo. Despite the massive upside down T of scars on my belly, I've never been told to stop ibuprofen more than 3 days ahead of a surgery.

Google can only ever and always feed your anxieties.
