Taking medication abroad

Hi I'm due to fly to France in a few weeks and have recently be prescribed Tramadol and diazapam to help with pain in hip and back. Does anyone know if I need to do anything or take anything with me through customs as I will have the medication with me.

Thanks.

As far as I know you take it in the original prescription bottle. You might want to check online re travel to France. Ooh la la

Be careful of the Tramadol, it will knock you out.

Hi Sarah, as far as I am aware you will be ok to travel with your prescription medication. I am on several different things and looked it up as I had similar worries. As long as they are in the boxes with the drug name on, and your name that's fine. As an extra precaution I took a copy of my green prescription sheet (the one you tick when you get repeats), although I'm not sure this is necessary. This has you name, address and NHS number on it. I've also taken the OTC medications that every family needs on holiday (as they always end up in my luggage!) and they have been fine too, again in the original boxes. Last tip, make sure you take enough for the duration and a few days extra for delays.

You should be ok I travelled to Australia with them as long as you keep them in the original box I also took a copy off all the medication I was prescribed

Hi Sarah as long as you take them in your original boxes you will be fine, I have to get a letter from my doctor as I am on Morphine because the laws regarding that are very strict.  Hope you enjoy your holiday and are not in too much pain.

Big Hugs
