i had a benign cyst on talus. they removed it and maybe the cartilage as well in the process. i have been recovering the last month and they did a ct scan to see what i need next. the DR is thinking of a talonavicular fusion. i am concerned that this will limit range of motion and be an impact on running or hiking later? does anyone have experience with this type of surgery? I am 26 and use to live a moderate active live before the cyst started to impact my life. i use to enjoy jogging, working out, hiking and climbing.
as of now i do have limited motion but only a month out from surgery and im not in too much pain considering having the surgery done to remove the cyst.
the first image is the MRI before the cyst was removed
the second image is two views from the ct scan they did… both the side by side images are the same day… one is just brighter. after they removed the cyst they injected a calcium and that is what is showing on the ct scan on the right from my understanding.
