I want to celebrate a minor milestone, but one which has left me feeling like a dog with two tails who doesn't know which one to wag first.
This morning I've managed to remove my TED stockings and put clean ones on unaided. It wasn't easy, getting them off was the most difficult part without breaking the 90 degree rule. There may have been some four-letter words uttered but I have a huge sense of achievement and happiness that something I have had to rely on friends for I have mastered alone. I think they may have stretched a bit, allowing me to get them over the sock aid, and I was able to bring the tops of the stockings over the knots, allowing me to pull them up in one simple (ish) movement.
what a milestone, well done, isnt it great to have that feel good sense of acheivement, simple things make us so happy to be able to do. so well done Cels, break open that bottle.
I desperately todat wanted to wear a skirt so attempted to put on 15 denier tights. They are on, full of holes and ladders with the crotch half way down my inner thigh😂 I cant wear them out but I'm wearing a skirt💃Every little step.
Funny, I had the same sense of accomplishment. It is a series of small, yet progressive achievements that show you are on the mend. Happy for you. Still away in the futurefor me is to be able to put the darn things or other socks on w/out using the aid.
Absolutely Sue. I've been independent for so long I hate having to rely on people, even though I know they don't mind. It's just the way I am and now it's just shopping (which I could do online but got told off for even suggesting it ) and lifts to surgery/hospital.
Oh, I used the aid. And repeated washing has stretched them a bit I think because last time I tried I couldn't even get them on the aid. One less thing to ask help with, assuming it goes as well tomorrow
I celibrated the same achivement 2 weeks ago. My hubby has been doing it for me up until then but l decided after a showrer l would give it a go myself. Sucess 😆 done it myself ever since. Only 4 more days left to wear them but seriously thinking of next shower or bath thats them finishes. Hate the bl##dy things.
The hardest thing was doing it without breaking the 90 degree rule. I hate them too but hate the thought of a blood clot more. Huge celebration though when the 6 weeks is up. Can't wait. They're the invention of the devil
