Hooray 6 week check TEDS off and in bin ...... however has anyone else noted (or is it just me) my hairs on my legs have not grown since wearing them ..... amazing .That truly is the only good thing about them!
Driven my car (bit pinchy but all good ) now to focus on building up stamina as far from ready for return to work in a busy nhs department !
Told my consultant today who is marvellous about this fab website as I think it should be recommended !
TEDS are medevil torcher devices and I cremated mine as soon as I felt safe to do so. I grabbed them with my BBQ tounges and set them alight.
I had to wear them after a total hystorectomy and again after having my left hip done. I do not beleive they help with DVT. I think there used to reduce swelling but use the DVT as an excuse.
I detested the TEDS witj a vengeance got rid of them as soon s I could, I am on anti cocoags for another condition so was not at high risk anyway, kept them on all the time for first 4 weeks then just of a night for final 2. Some consultants do recommend the sight I use it for my other condition (PAF) it was my consultant that suggested it. I found it so helpful in the early days and still find it useful 5 months down the line, oh and the hairless legs don't last
I didn't have them for either of my hips but I did for spinal surgery 2 years ago. They are objects for consultants to show their sadistic streak and nothing else in my opinion. I'm sooo glad I didn't have them, just anticoagulant this time 😊
