I broke the end of my fibula 10 weeks ago and had my cast removed 4 weeks ago.All my bruising has disappeared except for a mauvish/brown patch on the most swollen area over the fracture site and spreading to the heel in one direction and half way down my foot on the other.This skin hasn't changed colour at all since the cast was removed.Has anyone else experienced this?

My foot stayed purplish for weeks after break. Then the same after surgery. Blood supply to area was compromised, and circulation was diminished. Colours of foot, around that area, changed depending on his swollen my foot was, and how much weight I put on it. 5+ months post surgery, skin is almost back to normal , except at night when it looks like I have bruising.

I broke my ankle in 2011 (for the third time) and still have swelling and discolouration around the whole joint.
My surgeon has not commented on this, so I Just assume it is normal!
