im currently on day 12 of 10mg citalopram for anxiety. last week i went to ER with chest pains, they did a chest xray and ekg both came back normal and perscribed me pontolac for acid reflux.. while i do find its helping, im still getting chest pain and a pain in the centre of my back atleast once a day which worries me still thinking maybe the hospital missed something.. has anyone else experienced this and does it ever go away?
hi Kp13i would put these problems down to the side effects of Citrolopram which you will get until the medication gets used to your brain ,which can take up to 10 weeks.
I am on sertraline and getting the same side effects as you describe. people have said it’s not uncommon and will go away so dont worry, it will pass x
yes! you dont need to treat the reflux its normal when starting an ssri as 80 percent of seratonin is in the stomach x
I had reflux pretty bad, a natural remedy if you can handle the taste is ‘raw’ apple cider vinegar with ‘the mother’ with a little water and honey if you need it. It reduces the acid in your stomach, it definitely helped mine!
There is plenty of info on the internet to help you mix it properly.
