Hi people I'm new to this I lost my dad a year ago to suicide and ever since been suffering dizzy spells and not feeling myself went for blood tests all come back normal just carried on i took kalms I took St. John's worts finally couldn't cope I went to my doctor who precsribed me 50 mg of sertraline im only on day 7 and I feel terrible anxietys there 24/7 I have 4 children christmas shopping to do and can't even do it as I can't stand in shops too long waiting as I feel like gunna pass out so horrible
Hi Kayleigh sorry to hear about your dad. I'm afraid starting a antidepressant gives you horrible side effects and increased anxiety when 1st starting. Could you possibly ask your doctor for some diazepam to help calm you down over Christmas or propranolol. Hope all goes well x
Not to worry...Anxiety is part of the side effects most people suffer at first when taking sertraline, one thing though your doctor should've prescribed benzodiazepine like Xanax for anxiety to help you through the first month, mine did and it made a huge difference.
Yes Kayleigh, same thing happened with me. Very bad anxiety the first 2 weeks@50mg. Was going to quit. Thankfully did not and stayed with it. I'm now on month 4 and feeling much better.
I can't stay on it it's affecting my every day life I cannot even do my Christmas shopping as when I'm in queues feels like I'm going to collapse
