Terrified, breast pain for two months

Hi, two months ago I started having stabbing pain in left breast, sometimes felt very hot ,pain comes and goes, I am 57 years old and postmenopause, my gp says he is not overly concerned but it's just not going away, can anyone help.

Hello

I am sixty eight Male and suffer various chronic conditions, could your condition be caused by a form of heartburn ?

However if you are unhappy and concerned could you ask for your heart to be checked out, to put your mind at rest. Many practices have their own tech to check the heart and sometimes they will offer tests like these as we get older. Did your GP check Blood Pressure and cholestrol . Sometimes the aforementioned test can be completed quite quickly and will put your mind at rest.

You will be reaching your sixties soon and eventually you will be given a tranche of tests repeatable every year or so. However you are where you are now and you are anxious and worried, so it may be a good idea to discuss ways to put your mind at rest

hi im in your age range and recently have left breast mild pain. im having my yearly mammogram tomorrow.
it feels tender and i dont feel a lump but i know how scary it is. im post menopausal so dont know why it would feel sore.
have u had a mammogram?

hi Jan
tks for your reply,my last mamogram was 2017, all was fine, my pain is not mild, it burns and stabs, very frightening, hope you get good results from your mammogram,

tks f or your kind reply,I really don’t feel it’s heart related, but will see what my go says

I get a stabbing pain on and off in both my breasts, normally stems from under the arm and down into my breast. I went to the Dr who sent me to the breast clinic. I had a mammogram and everything was fine, they put it down to hormones. They told me that anything sinister doesn’t usually cause breast pain!
I hope that alleviates some of your worries

Hi Gayle, really appreciate your reply, yes two doctors have said pain doesn’t usually mean bad stuff but this is lasting so long ,it has me really worried, do you mind me asking what age bracket you are I’m hoping mike us related to menopause ,although I thought I was out the other side of that.

Hi, i am 41, i haven’t gone through the menopause yet x

Hi kate
I’m 50 and think I maybe start g menopause. I too have intermittent stabbing pain and itchiness in left breast. I went to Dr’s last Thursday and got an appointment literally the next day saying my Dr has sent me urgently to see a specialist. I’m there next Thursday and am frightened to death. I keep lookking at my breasts in the mirror and think my left 1 looks different but I don’t know if I’m reading to much into it. I would feel better if it was both breasts but it’s just the left 1. The pains between a sharp and a dragging pain. I’m so worried I can’t sleep properly, so I know exact were you are coming from xxx

Hi Lisa,
I’m sending this again bad I think you may not have got it first time, as I said I c a n understand exactly your fear as o have been going tru it for past 10 weeks, thought I was out of menopause as does my go so that makes it extra worrying, the pain is in left breast and now in armpit and down my arm, I wish it was both sides as I could say maybe hormonal but it’s not. All I can say is keep as busy as you can till you see the specialist, I’m seeing mine next Monday, hoping and praying for reassurance, it’s a terrible fear all the time, I hope we both have a good result , pls let me know how you get on, warm hugs.x

Hi Jan
Just got wondering how did your mamogram go

Hi Lisa
Just wondering how your doing, have you had any appointments yet with your doc, I’m seeing a specialist this morning, extremely nervous, expect to be sent for scans, so more waiting to find out what’s going on, the fear and worry is very hard to cope with, hope you can let me know how you get on, best of luck,
