Terrified of coronavirus, not sleeping, eating

does anyone have any advice? i know we cant get rid of coronavirus but my nerves have gone! im not sleeping or eating properly because im that worried! i had a cold last week and now have a bit of a cough (mainly at night) where im coughing up phleghm. ive researched LOTS and it appears that phleghm doesnt happen with coronavirus and is just an after effect of the cold i had. my anxiety at the minute is through the roof with panic, i keep feeling like i cant breathe... then ill do my breathing exercises and calm down again. im 30, no underlying health problems so hopefully id be ok. but im worries about passing on to people who wouldnt like my dad, so much so im making myself ill with it. any advice on anything? advice on how to calm down?

omg me too.im so terrified i cant sleep i cant eat and im constantly getting panic attacks its to the point i dont even want to open up my windows in my apartment because it can stay alive a few hours in the air.everyone is telling me to relax its not a big deal but im honestly going crazy

Good Morning Laura,Bless you.You are not alone in this.I am exactly the same way.I have had to get back on my beta blockers & not watch the news.Rescue Remedy, is ment to be very good.Do you have or like Aromatherapy pulse point oils? they do some lovely calming oils.Lavendar is a brilliant one.A warm milky drink at night.And listen to calming Music.Make a list of Friends to call.Also go for a walk in your Garden.Which part of the UK are you from?I am from Surrey.Anyway,hope all is ok ? best wishes Amanda ( ps) l am a carer for my Husband, who has terminal cancer.

Laura I understand that you were nervous about the virus. But it’s very important that you take care of your health because doing that will build up your immune system to fight off all viruses in general. The best thing you can do is eat healthy, stay hydrated, get some sleep and get a little exercise if you can .that is the best gift you can give to yourself as well as your family members.
running yourself down will do no good and will make you less resistant.
Another thing you can do is listen to some great meditations for anxiety on YouTube. They completely calm me down At night when laying down to sleep.. I also do this a couple times a day.
It will be OK just remember to take the precautions such as frequent handwashing, staying at home, etc.
Be a fighter for yourself and don’t give in to fear and anxiety! Keep pushing on for yourself and your family!

I’m going through the same thing. My family (parents) live on the other side of the world so basically alone here.

Had a fever 3 weeks ago but now it still feels like I’m fighting off an infection. I’ve had countless sleepless nights in the past 2 weeks which isn’t helping.

Now I’m constantly paranoid about every little thing I feel. I feel short of breath and lost my natural rythm breathing. I’ve woken up a few nights breathing heavier than normal, and sometimes I get heart palpitations.

If it makes you feel any better, many many people are in the same boat.
