hi, I have been sick for almost a month now. It started off with heartburn and then i couldnt eat nothing at all. when i did try to eat i would get sick to my stomach and throw up. I would get massive burning in my chest and under my breast bone. Also excessive gas and burping. I went to the ER 4 times tests came back good and even had a upper endoscope and that was good. I can eat certain foods now but hours later especially at night im still in pain. The surgeon says no sign of acid reflux from my endoscope test. No ulcers or gastritis. Im supposed to go back and see the surgeon thursday. My family doctor talked about getting a hida scan done. Im so irritated all of my tests are coming back good but I cant eat much without hurting hours later with massive heartburn symptoms and vomitting sometimes.
Yeah it could still be the gallbladder. Try and get the hida scan done as that’s what showed my gallbladder wasn’t functioning properly. Turns out after they took it out it showed i had chronic cholecystitis.
hi I’ve got gallstones awaiting surgery got cancelled due to the conrovirus I have started to get pain under the breast bone not had any tests yet need to ring gp next month if it still happens and I get a lot of burning in my chest too
Have you had an ultrasound of your gallbladder? I ask because you did not mention this. If you have had an ultrasound and nothing showed up, then I agree that getting a hida is a good idea.
I know that people can get symtoms without having any stones if the gallbladder is low functioning - the hida will determine this.
I sympathise with you having to have all of these tests, it is not pleasant, but the sooner you establish the cause of the problem, the sooner you can get well and get your life back on track. I had my gallbladder removed 7 weeks ago and had multiple stones and sludge. I cannot tell you how good it feels not to have that pain, those symtoms and the constant fear of eating anything which might trigger an attack. Stick with it and I am sure you will get to the bottom of what is causing you these issues. Best of luck
