tests rationing

I was reading an article the other day and it was about medical treatment and the National Health Service

It was explaining how much money it was costing for GP referrals for tests like scans etc in hospital when it came to anxiety and repeat associated re-testing when results prove all was clear.

Yes I understand what the situation is and also I accept their is an need to put patients mind at rest, what I am asking what would happen if rationing came about for selective testing.

Believe me I am not saying that multiple tests should not be undertaken.

I look on CBT and CPN Referrals where this type of treatment in many areas is been restricted to six sessions.

The health Service is in a mess at this time

lol yea completely understand where those people that are getting tested done are coming from, I also understand where the health system is coming from but honestly I think quality of life comes first, and as a sufferer from health anxiety and one who can't even get a single test because my blood and vitals came back ok even though most symptoms coincide with anxiety or brain tumors fairly closely I don't think it's fair where as when I was younger(10 or 12) i had to get a physical for wrestling, But i had a lump in my stomach and they immediately did blood work which came back ok and still gave me an MRI with contrast anyway which for me I was too happy go lucky to really pay attention to what was going on so I just assumed everybody got those tests for physicals around that age, point is my quality of life in the last 3 months hasn't been very good, and either way the test would go would have to be better, I mean if it was clear then great I have no stress over it anymore as I don't have the questioning of tests accuracy but if they did find something then atleast I would know and have atleast a chance of winning the battle that would then need to happen. Basically there should be a time limit in between the tests or pay out of pocket for them if you want multiples of The same test, but because the way they are with not wanting to administer the tests I wonder how many people lives are being changed in a negative way. I get the world revolves around money but I really truly feel like atleast in the USA they are to quick with the diagnoses of mental illness they ask you a cpl questions describe your symptoms and off you go with a prescription for an AD no other tests are givin unless you go to the emergency department. My dr imparticular made me feel like I was a bother or wasting his time or he looked down on people like me for having these issues. I don't know what it's like in other places and from reading on here it seems like they are much more patient with you and more thorough any just my take on the money and medicine situation, over here the pharmaceutical companies own the medical industry and everything surrounding it lol it's unfortunate

Would you consider paying a percentage for additional tests, in a given period, Again I am not saying yes or no, it is an interest to consider what could happen in the future if this were to happen

For a repeat test that wasn't medically necessary for example say I had one done and then 2 months later I felt I needed another (without like a car accident or something Of that sort happening) absolutely I would, however I do that now having health insurance, but I would say paying a higher out of pocket percentage on top for a repeat test without it being medically necessary wouldn't be something most would have a problem with. I also am not against neither for it, but by rationing i interpret that as like well we will give 40 this quarter and we have to pick and choose who gets it, I would say more of An option to rule things out at the beginning of an illness is acceptable but once rolled out of the consumer or patient wants another within a certain period of time then they should be responsible for atleast part of the cost, Barring a circumstance like concussions or traumatic brain injury or in a situation where one is suspected that would be fine

Maybe this will spark more research and developement into all this and a better understanding of the importance to improve the mental health. Clearly telling 25% of the population "its just anxiety" isnt cutting it. And the medicines only work in half the people trial and erroring them. So the blame falls on them not the person with the disorder.

Health care should not be about a buisness, its about humans and their well being. Sadly this entire world has figured out a way to strongly profit off of illness..physical or mental.  42 billion dollars is a bit steep for a medicine to make over anti deoressants.Definetly Amercia has mastered profiting on  this. An illness shouldnt cost you loans and or your property to treat. Something is very wrong overall. Even with the lack of knowledge science has on how to reset any of this they can explain to the patient what is going in and offer counsellors immediately. I dont feel anyone walks into this disorder on purpose. Nor are they able to stop it all, so the healthcare system needs to be less of a buisness and more about providing sound care to anyone who is ill. They have lost track of the "human element" involved completly.  It used to be a tiny percent of people. So they could seep them under the rug quietly but it an epidemic now so they need to figure it out.

As for the scans, if the treatment was intiated immediately and counselling immediately provided that rate would probably drop by half.  And thats with no actual cure. People don't know whats happening when this first starts up.

The  media needs to educate the world. They seriously need to have this out in the open. Maybe even have a some documentaries out. They just need a lot more out there.  They have started and thats great but a lot more. 25% is way too many people to be lost.

The problem arises when someone has a test and all is clear, two months later you go against GP recommendations and demand another same test all shows all clear once more

Yes we may need to have a repeat scan in a twelve month period it is the demand of tests when there is no real change in the patients condition

Hello you speak to the converted.

I was reading reports on commissioning treatment pathways and it was interesting reading, I know what the situation is and the rationing of CBT at this time is counter productive and takes to long to pick up on an Anxiety Patients needs. They are always playing catchup with Soial Services as well.

We know what needs to be done and what happens when snarling up of treatment  does to people who have serious conditions that are not found in time. All is so not straight forward and I have seen the problems over the years that come about because of medical rationing, I am waiting for a sedation and it has taken from last April to get the original appointment. I will be going in nxt we for a pre op appointment then will I suppose get treatment over the Christmas period. A long time of twelve months.

It really concerns staff I have talked to in the past
