Thank you

Can i just thank everybody for the messages you have sent to me regarding my panic, i am going to really try and not do this , and will discuss my feelings with my doctor, as if i dont tell her she wi;ll not know. drinking lots and lots of camomile tea.

Thank you for your message . Don't try to hard not to panic .Go with the flow .

I wish I could drink camomile tea ,but whenever I have tried it I get a nasty thick headache .Always have done . Does anyone know of another relaxing drink I could try . Other than wine ,gin and tonic , I will still have to climb the stairs to bed after .

Happy Easter to you Margerat and all the other helpfull people on this lighthouse in this choppy journey

After I had my second daughter (in Germany by c-section) eventually I was allowed more than sips of water, what would I like to drink? Tea please :-)  What sort, camomile or peppermint? No, black tea with milk. That will make you ill. So I opted for water again!

How did the entire female fecund population in the UK survive I ask myself? I'm not sure which is worse, camomile or peppermint to be honest. I like my mint with lamb - or in a Hugo with ice in the summer :-)

Sorry though - no suggestions for a bedtime drink bar hot chocolate...

PS - a Hugo is a spring/summer drink here in northern Italy made with elderflower cordial, white wine and soda with a large spring of mint :-)

Hugo sounds wonderful , elderflower cordial appears to be very popular hear now . In the last year it has hit the supermarket shelves ,with gusto and goes just as quick .Havnt tried it with white wine yet . I must admit there is nothing like a nice cup of tea .When I went to Itally in the early 60s on a school trip , was put of tea then because everything was served with warm goats milk , so turned to black coffee . Even Canada where I thought they would understand about tea pg tips came in a bag a quarter of the size hear .I will stick with the drinking chocolate at bedtime .Or tea do not drink milk now , because of the warm goats milk floating in lumps on the surface .

I find it a bit sweet - and now tend to drink Aperol spritz (Aperol is an orange coloured bitter with bitter orange and rhubarb in the mix) which is also called a Veneziana or, in this region, a Burdy and is made with prosecco and soda. Even better I think, as it is even less sweet, is a Campari spritz but it has more alcohol unfortunately.

But all of them need brilliant sunshine to be drunk  - temperature is less important as they are drunk while skiing too, but only sitting out in the sun!

As for tea - I take a kettle, mugs and t-bags with me all over the world. The day doesn't start until at least 2 mugs of tea have been drunk. I find Tetleys are best for international use - they cope with any sort of water! Our nephew's partner is a tea taster for Tetleys - not that I benefit from that except now you get a better cup of tea at our cousin's!

same to you carole, the sun is out today here in west yorkshire and it even feels warm, my son and his wife are coming on sunday, i am having a grandson on the 29th july, so am trying to knit.

Take care. Mags

Aperol Spritz! Love that drink and looking forward to having it again when we are on Lake Maggiore later this year. It's very difficult to get Aperol in the UK, except at an extortionate price on Amazon. We brought a bottle home last time we were in Italy, it didn't last long. :-)
