As I have a chronic illness and had my benefits stopped and I'm in the middle of appealing the decision. I am just wondering what changes are going to be announced in the budget tomorrow. I guess it's just wait and see!
The cuts are all over social media and all the papers not good news most if not all Tory MPs voted for £30 cuts ESA I guess we will have more shocks tommorrow they hate sick and disabled ppl with a passion
According to what ive read, but we will see tomorrow, the changes are for new claimants, surely if you have already claimed you wont loose out?
I am also appealing my two year pips award being taken from me unfairly due to an incompetent assessor
Les, I'm going to a tribunal for PIP and waiting on mandatory reconsideration for ESA,
Marshall, when I was on ESA for 6 months in was only getting £73.00 aweek and put on JSA to take me to the end of April,
Just don't know what going to happen next!
I suppose it will all end up that those on ESA will have to find a job or be given long term Community Service work. I read also that if we pull out of the EU, pensioners that aren't in receipt of PIP or AA will be made to do work such as fruit picking for the state pension.

I have had a few emails asking my advice on PIP, I dont get PIP i only get ESA hence replying to Twiglet12 on ESA.
I didnt see any announcements yesterday on the budget about the £30 cut but have seen it talked about on the net prior to this.
All i can say is that what ive read is that the proposed changes were to affect new claimants, not existing ones. On the esa websites it doesnt mention it at all, so if people are asking advice on the amout they will get if awarded ESA the best way is to ring them and get info directly rather than rely on hear say.
I read a list of MPs who voted pre-budget for the tax-cuts to come from the disabled. Don't know if true or not, has anyone else seen it?
I saw this printed in our local rag:

Any one of these will give you 8 points
Cannot prepare and cook food. 8 points.
Needs supervision, prompting or assistance to be able to manage therapy that takes more than 14 hours a week. 8 points.
Cannot wash and bathe at all and needs another person to wash their entire body. 8 points.
Needs assistance to be able to manage incontinence of both bladder and bowel. 8 points.
Cannot dress or undress at all. 8 points.
Cannot read or understand signs, symbols or words at all. 8 points
Cannot engage with other people due to such engagement causing either –
(i) overwhelming
psychological distress to the claimant; or
(ii) the claimant to exhibit behaviour which would result in a substantial risk of harm to the claimant or another person. 8 points.
PLUS
Needs assistance to be able to wash their body between the shoulders and waist. 4 points
This gives 12 points – enhanced rate.

Needs to use an aid or appliance to be able to either prepare or cook a simple meal. 2 points. - an electric can opener
Needs –
(i) to use an aid or appliance to be able to take nutrition; or
(ii) supervision to be able to take nutrition; or
(iii) assistance to be able to cut up food. 2 points - have false teeth
Needs to use an aid or appliance to be able to manage toilet needs or incontinence. 2 points - a new higher toilet seat from Homebase
Needs to use an aid or appliance to be able to wash or bathe. 2 points - a long handled brush from a discount store
Needs to use an aid or appliance to be able to dress or undress. 2 points - sit on the bed
Needs to use an aid or appliance to be able to speak or hear. 2 points – a free hearing aid from the NHS
Needs to use an aid or appliance, other than spectacles or contact lenses, to be able to read or understand either basic or complex written information. 2 points – a cheap magnifying glass
I then wonder who is classified as actually more disabled and incurring more expense as both claimants (A and B) would be awarded the enhanced rate?
I make no comment as to whether I agree with the current system or not.
However if I wanted to claim PIP (which I now can't) I would have the 14 points based entirely on aids for very genuine reasons - but would it be right to play the system to that extent........
Well,i have Crohn's disease and arthritis I suffer with fatigue, cramp, pins and needles in my hands, feet and my wrists are weak now! With the Crohn's disease, the next step will be major surgery. Oh yes, I go to the toilet many times!
With all this going on, i don't do much socialising but now I'm fit for work?
