hiya david im katie im only 24 i have suffered with my weight for my whole life, i was actually 29 stone at 1 point im ashamed to say, i decided to have gastric bypass, i lost 2 stone myself and then finally went and had my gastric bypass on 6th december last year, i am less than 4 month post op and i am down to 22 stone it is the best thing i ever did, clothea fit better and i feel healthier, u can do it dont let things put u off if u feel its the only way u can do it, but make it a last option as its very hard and can be fruatrating just little things not being able to have a sunday dinner or a takeaway whem u dont wana cook and wen i did first have it i regretted it but now i wouldnt change a thing

Hi David just go for it! I have my first consultation tomorrow for gastric band, I've done lots of research and read lots of forums, there has been some negative comments but mostly positive which is very reassuring good luck!

I don't know what to do , I feel like I'm cheating, if I go for the band, and I could of used the money it would cost on something els , but all my life I was the fat kid, I have lost weight over the years but put it back on, last year was a crap year for loosing weigh,I don't want to wast another year being fat,but then I think so what if I get it done,I'm investing in my future 😁

Good luck with your journey! If you could let me know how you get on that would be great 👍

its an investment in u and it will b the best 1 u ever make i promise, ur still young and if u do it now it can change ur whole future, and most ppl questioned me why i was havin it with me being young but like i said other than my weight issue i waa healthy and i wanted to do it before i got health issues, ive always been big and ive hated it especially because my parents r slim i felt like the black sheep of family and now all i thinking of is my future and how good it will be for losing weight and gettin my confidence xx

Hi David. I am 30 and have always been the big girl. I toyed with the idea of a gastric band for a few years before I plucked up the courage to book a consultation. I finally did it after a miserable holiday in Italy for my 30th birthday. Italy is such a lovely place but the way I felt when I was there was the last straw! I had my consultation at the beginning of December and had the op at the end of January. I have lost about 2 and a half stones so far and can't wait until I get my band fill right to help me alon the way. Currently losing weight by calorie counting. But losing weight was nevery my probem - keeping myself motivated when I felt hungry was, and I have always put it all back on plus some. This time I was 2 stones heavier than I ever had been. I think the band is going to be my savour!

Don't think you are a cheat - that's something someone who has never had a weight problem would say. The band is a tool. It still takes hard work to lose weight.

Had my op in Glasgow so can't help with your other question

Awww sounds like your doing brill! ive been beasting the gym and I think do I realy need it? But I've been there so many time working hard at gym and then I have a bad weekend then leads into a week and then amonth, then back to square one! Like the other day I went to kabab shop to get a chicken kabab befor I know I've orded a large donna kabab, And when I've eat it, I think what have you done that for 😢😢😢

Haha currently salvating!!!! Kebab!!! But that's just it in a nutshell really, unless the eating is sorted, we can work out at the gym all we want and it won't do what we hope it will. I went to the gym for 4 months and lost half a stone and thought sod this.....then I put 4st on!!!! Haha.
