The impact of smoking on functional cysts ?

Hello dear ladies,

to cut a long story short,I've just come back from visiting my new husband overseas and again my period is late,I have breast tenderness and neg preg test.I'm in my 40's and am concerned that his heavy smoking may exascabate my newly found issue with multiple and larger functional cysts as I managed to balance hormones resulting in shrinkage and disappearance of them early this year and I feel they may have returned?

It's a lonely journey being hopeful of pregnancy and finding instead my husbands habits may create missed opportunities and health problems sad

The only other changes I can think of to get the cysts growing again could be switching to chlorinated water or eating differently for three weeks..

It's all to do with your hormones, probably nothing to dop with his smoking. Have you had hormone levels checked? I started menopause in early 40's, this can play havoc with periods too. If it worries you, maybe you should ask him to quit smoking!

Thanks Pollyanna,

yeah I should get them checked again, when's the best time in the cycle would you think?I realised period due today if I go by the length of the latest one..28 days,so I may be jumping the gun.I may have tested to early

and be over reading symptoms too.

My husband smokes harder if he thinks about giving up ha

I did read having s*x can increase a woman's estrogen ,I wonder if that contributes after a lull of months?

Hi, I don't know when the best time of your cycle is, best ask a professional about that. Don't know about sex either, I've never had my levels checked, not done much here in UK unless you're trying to get pregnant and then only after years of trying other methods. I think you'll have to see a fertility specialist. With regard to smoking, I gave up using 'Vapers'! Never had one since!
