I'm 13wks post THR and though it's been successful I still get some mild muscle pain..that is until yesterday when I woke with what feels like a torn muscle in my left side lower back,so bad I can hardly move or sleep.
The pain is slightly easier today but still there.
The strange thing is since my back issues I now have none of the previous pain from my hip at all,it feels perfect.
Hopefully when my back recovers the hip stays good too.
Can it be to do with the way the brain categorises pain? The more severe pain taking precedence?
Any body any ideas?
Hi , I will be 15 weeks tomorrow and my hip is great ! But every muscle in my body is telling me it's there , particularly back muscles at night and in morning . I am putting down to the fact that I was inactive for so long after op and am know doing more ?
i am having accupuncture and deep massage as it has been good in past .
Feeling a bit down about it really and can't complain about another prob to family and friends .
going on hols next week so hope that helps ?
good luck
mary
Interesting thought Paul ... I think Mary is right ... the pain in my new hip is a lot less than every other muscle in my body ... even my fingers are hurting sometimes from holding on to my wlaker for dear life .... probably because I am not too confident yet or trusting that my operated leg will support me - and also, the time prior surgery that I could barely walk - Most of the pain is in my non-operated leg ... I try to be more aware of my posture - shoulders down and relax, buttocks and so on .... Hope you will have a better day .....
Thank goodness for fellow hippies !
i was wondering why my hands were hurting thought it was down to being 60 . You have cheered me up .
