There are so many answers I'm looking for but I want to at least learn 1

Hi, I’m Colby, I’ve been dealing with bad panic and brain issues. We couldn’t find out what was wrong with the brain until I was doing some research and looked up concussion details and symptoms. Everything lined up so well. I’m not saying it is but it seems to be post-concussive syndrome. I’m glad I might have an answer on what this might be and the MRI I’m taking in 2 weeks will prove what’s going on for sure. But one issue is that taking showers has become hard and makes me feel ill. I know the issue with it is partly anxiety but the brain has been the main issue. Does anyone have some tips on how I can shower normally again? Thanks so much, everyone.

I dont think i can be very helpful on this one. I dont know much about concussions. Only thing i can tell you is that you are taking the right steps to figure out whats going on. Is it the water hitting your head in the shower thats the problem? Your brain has no feeling, thats why when they do brain surgery the patient is awake and cant feel what they are doing in his brain. But the outside skin covering your skull does have feeling. So i am curious just what the shower feels like on your head. And MRI and ct scan are the way to go to know for sure. Do you have the option to take a bath if you cant shower? If all else fails you can do a sponge bath and clean yourself that way. I am so sorry for you. Do you know how you hot the concussion, what you banged your head on? I wish i could help more but sounds like you are on the right path.

have u ever hit your head or any injury to your head?then concussion is possible and a x ray is only way too know. only advise i can give is take a quick shower, dont even think about, i have the same issues, its like as soon as i go in the shower i get a bad feeling or something like i cant breath.its anxiety and believe it or not anxiety will make u turn delusional where u will believe that something or everything is wrong, thats me day to day, it is very draining to live like this, your not alone

Well on the idea of why the showers are so rough I think there’s a big combo of things happening. I have a before I’m even in the shower feeling of dread which makes my anxiety go up as I’ve become almost afraid of showering as I always seem to feel ill during or after the shower. But the shower and how it relates to the brain issues and why it triggers all these nasty brain symptoms. It might be because of the water hitting my head, the forehead is the bad area. it could also be the feeling of it on the body that sends all these alarms back to my brain making the issues occur. As for the injuries I have sustained that could cause a concussion, there’s a few. The first happened in august of this school year, I was working out back in the yard to work on some piping with my dad. I was using a small but heavy metal pickaxe to get through the tougher dirt. Well, I was right next to a safety netting we have up as I like to shoot hockey pucks out there. As I was getting ready for a hard swing, it caught the net and drove it right into my head hard causing a lot of bleeding and swelling but it didn’t require an ER visit. I don’t believe that that was the cause though as I didn’t have any kind of issues after for months. the second is kind of a jumble of things. I play hockey but when I’m actually playing at the rink I’m a goalie. I take a lot of shots to the head. I’m 18 right now but I’m not playing in a league of my age and skill group. I play pick up on Thursday nights and anyone can come. this results in my playing against like 22 to 30-year-olds that have all mostly played high high-level hockey, so these guys have hard shots. So I think at one point I took too many hits. I’m just so confused why the symptoms hid for so long and then slowly got worse until all of a sudden they were at extreme levels. Thanks for the response, David. I know it’s hard for you to give me any answers but I really appreciate that you’re trying and still give some help too

sounds rough getting hit in the head so much. Think you are probably right about the concussions. Kind of like a boxer getting punchy from getting hit in the head so much. Maybe you have some form of PTSD from getting hit in the head so much, which explains the anxiety. Regardless, you may want to rethink your sports life after they do the MRI. Probably be wise to protect that head better. I have heard of something where if you get hit too much in the head, the brain can detach from the skull bone and kind of flop around inside the skull. i am sure thats not your case. but i would be scared too, and also lead to anxiety. Any way, tough case but you are on the right path to feeling better. I am interested in how you MRI turns out, so i hope you share the doctors findings.
