Thigh Numbness

I had previous thigh numbness on my unoperated leg from a previous unrelated surgery.

I forgot to ask my surgeon but I have more thigh numbness in my unoperated leg and none in my operated leg.

Anybody else find this?

You could be ib the same state as me needing the other side doing?? My left was OK but now needs replacing ASAP, getting worse by the week, sure they xrayed so you can see???

Hi Miele,

I am not sure what you mean by "numbness" - don't you feel anything when you press on it or does it feel weak or tender ? I had R THR 14 weeks ago and like Ian, now left needs THR too ..needless to say that the unoperated side is acting up - thigh and knee especially -

you mention that you had this numbness on unoperated leg from a previous unrelated surgery ... could this still be problem? The unoperated leg is taking most of the weight right now and might be a bit overloaded ...

how many weeks post-op are you? and yes, please call your doctor if yiu are worried ....

sorry I can't be of more help ... take care and big hug for soing well

Hi

Yes, I have exactly the same. Before the op and now post op. The numbness can sometimes tingle but basically very little feeling in unoperated thigh, more on the outside.

Osteopath suggested nerves, coming from lower back as the tingling is more when I lie on my back. This hip is in quite good condition and been told good for 5 years. So nothing to do with hip.

I've stopped worrying about it as it doesn't really bother me. Sometimes I feel a good massage would help, to get some feeling there! Maybe treat myself!

Is this any help or similar to you?

Best wishes
