I was wondering if any of you had experienced pain in what feels like the rod in the femur of my operated leg, I am 7 months post opp, this is only started in the last few days, and it's only when I sit down, it seems the pressure when I sit makes the bone stick in me, that's the only way to describe it, and if I press my scar I can re produce the pain...any idea's would be welcome
Good morning Lynne ... that is a scary thought !!! I rather think that it is part of the healing process - it is foreign object and your body is in the process of accepting this .. I feel it too ... the hardware, as I call it ... but it is not a constant pain or something but just when I touch and lightly press on my thigh - it is more tender than pain, really .... according to my Physical Therapist it can also be the big muscle, even at 7 motnhs up ..... I imagine that if the rod is seperating from the bone, it must be extremely painful - I am not worried about it, but if you are, please have it checked -
I must say that the thought its coming away from the bone scared me to death!! as you say it's a teneder pain, I past all my pre opp. tests back in feb. also I called the hostpital yesterday and they told me !, all my bloods from my pre opp. tests came back normal on may 22nd, 2. I will have a date on or before july 24th for my other hip, I also said I was scared of wearing out my first new hip before I got the other one done, as of course I fovour that one cos of the pain in my right, I will keep all of you posted,
Yes me too, a year later😥 I think it very much depends on the state of your femur pre op, (mine wasn't great due to numerous plates/pins etc as a child) , I'm just learning to live with it, perhaps the muscles will build up around it in time? Here's hoping, very best of luck x
