feeling a bit stressed had a &p back in december, and things went weel but last few weeks felt a bit off down below like swollen, think me lugging a suitcase on work trip set it off, been doing pelvic exercises like mad but hasnt really settled, been taking ibruprofen to see if it help but i wake up in morning feeling full and swollen. checked this morning (was putting it off incase it is back to scared to check)
feels all bulgey again on front wall
not sure if just swollen and need to really take it easy and will settle or if prolapsed again
so stressed now , will exercises etc help or is it a lost cause
I think lifting or pulling a suitcase isn't a good idea especially after an anterior and posterior repair. I would see your GP and ask him/her if you've done any damage, at least it will put your mind at rest.
Sorry to hear you worried again, probably best to rest up and maybe get things checked at GP if things don't settle. Is your lower back sore too?
I am heading off to Gran Canadian end of June will be 4 months post op, but will not be handling heavy cases hubby can do that, and will use a small back pack for hand luggage ( nothing heavy just paperwork/passports/purse ).
Even with roller case still times you have to lift them, very difficult to avoid weight bearing.
no other pain anywhere, (thankfully) just a swollen feeling like when you just had op, doesnt feel like a ball like pre op, which im taking a good sign, but will go get checked unfortunatley will have to wait for few days (due to my mom having a op ) so have to take her etc and finishing work for few days leave
but going to try not do anything (as in standing lifting etc) till i can get to docs friday
sadly when you travel alone i had to lug it up stairs myself in the underground then its on wheels but im sure that set it off think when i travel down to london in couple weeks going to rearrange route so its lifts etc might make journey longer but need to be extra cautious me thinks
I think mosnippy that you always have to be careful after these repairs unfortunately.
It is so difficult sometimes avoiding weight issues; I'm cutting back on how much I take on holiday, so my hubby can cope with majority of luggage, and that way I only have a small light bag. It's all trial and error really.
When I had a poo today it didn't feel right, so I looked, wish I hadn't.I screamed and thought the prolapse inside was there.the vagina is bulgy and full.did yuou have this Phyllis from front wall? Anyone else see this bulge from anterior op.I'm only 2 wksπ’π’
Try not to look, 3 year ago when I had hysterectomy and anterior repair it was so tightly sewn couldn't see anything until about 3 months post op and it was still bulge, rough and dry and still swollen.
This time round had A&P repairs and not so tightly sewn up could see and feel large swollen front wall, dry and rough, around 2/3 weeks.
At 9 weeks tomorrow swelling is down considerably , not quite so dry, but still feel it when walking, still easily irritated.
When for 35in walk as usual always takes me longer to walk back, I time it to 15/20 mons on way out. I always walk much slower on way home and practically shuffling by time I get to my home street.
It's the posterior floor where I feel it like I've overdone things and get painful when taking a stretch when walking.
Will have to be more shorter walks more regularly. Routine gets disrupted over holiday weekend.
Please try not to worry as you said yourself you have been resting and taking it easy and have done nothing for 2 weeks so everything will be all right. These surgeons are specialists and highly skilled at their jobs and they have a great team of nurses to support them .
Go look at holiday brochures instead and plan your next holiday and focus on being positive and look ahead to getting your life back.
It is going to be great in a few weeks time and even better in a couple of months.
You are right phyllis advising not to look. Unless anyone looking is prepared to fully accept it is in no way going to look normal then it's just not worth all the worry. It can take months depending on the extent of the operation before it will look and feel as it should. Healing takes time particularly as the area is so sensitive and as I've said many times before if you have seen the actual operation you will understand why. xx
I was just wondering how you got on after your last post .I am also 5 months and have exactly same as you .Did you go to the GPs ? Or did you rest and everything got better ?
hi sorry for late response, it settled for a bit so i left it as soon as i walked to much etc would come back but go away, past week its then came back with a vengeance and i have that feeling like somethings going to drop out of me (i could cry) so off to docters today to see what they say , if i have a look not sure if i can see cervix but somethings diff not right
Thanks for getting back to me .Im sorry yours has not calmed down .I finally bit the bulllet and went to see the doc who did the op .Good news and bad news the op is fine nothing has dropped ,but I now have a traumatized bladder !! It makes it feel like I need to go all the time .It is still healing inside 6 months and he said the fullness pulling will go in time . I am same as you every time I lift walk too much or generally try to do NORMAL things I suffer. He said that will get better in time. Also because I am 51 my lack of oestrogen is not helping .I have some oestrogen creme to try and if no better have to start urologist tests again.!!
sorry about your traimatised bladder sounds terrible! has it improved any?
my prolapse is back bad news but good news is was only very mild! reckons just over did it and beed to work hard at my pelvic exercises and it will pull everything back up, being have incontinence as well so i bit the bullet and bought a kegel8 machine as clearly i wasnt doing the exercises enough etc they have a specia prop specifically for prolapses and reviews on it for post surgery etc was great so after days of reading and umminv and arreing i bought one! its my health after all
